My son and I went last night at 6pm for dinner. What a horrible experience. This isn’t our first time, we went in January for my birthday and it was a great experience so this was very disappointing. , It was busy, but there was still many empty tables. We waited a good 15 mins at least for them to take our order. Our waitress had passed us multiple times even making eye contact with me to notice we were ready to order and she walked right passed us. So when I we finally ordered after a solid 15 mins or so we decided to order our appetizer with our dinner because we worried we would have to wait even longer if we waited to order our entrees. My son ordered the beef Mac and cheese and I ordered chicken salad and we shared the cod tacos. Well our waitress brings his meal and the tacos. Not mine. Not until like 15 or 20 mins later she finally brings my salad. How a salad with a deep fried piece of chicken took longer than some some beef Mac and cheese and cod tacos was beyond me. By this time I was starving and my son was pretty much done his meal. I ate the chicken which was cold and so crunchy it kinda hurt my teeth but I was hungry. I started eating my salad and it was so soggy I just couldn’t eat it. My son felt too bad and said I should say something, but I said no that’s fine I just won’t tip. Instead he called the guy working at the bar over and told him. They said sorry and i asked if I wanted another. I said no thanks. They ended up not charging me for the salad. My son works in a restaurant and said it seemed they were under staffed. I told him well all these time she passed she could have politely advised she would be with us shortly. He agreed they could have handled it so much better. My son enjoyed his food and the cod tacos were good. The salad was gross and service was terrible other than the guy who apologized for my soggy salad. The restaurant was so loud between tvs and people talking loud my son and I could barely have a conversation to hear each other. So we will not be going back there. Very...
Read moreAre You Kidding Me? $1.75 for Mayo?
Wings Richmond just lost a customer over one of the most ridiculous, petty charges I’ve ever seen. I ordered their lunch special Chicken Clubhouse sandwich which comes with a side order of fries and asked for some mayonnaise. Nothing special just Mayo, because there was barely any sauce in the sandwich to begin with. No one told me there would be an extra charge, no warning, no signs, nothing. Then I check the bill and find out they charged me $1.75 plus tax for MAYONNAISE. Seriously?
What kind of joke is this? You’re already charging full price for a sandwich lacking in condiments and then sneak in a $1.75 fee for a basic condiment without saying anything? That’s not just bad service that’s straight up scammy. If you’re going to nickel-and-dime your customers for basic condiments, at least be upfront about it. Hiding it until the bill shows up is just shady and unprofessional. On top of that they labelled the mayonnaise as “Ranch Dip” because there’s absolutely no mention anywhere on the menus for mayo.
When I asked the manager about it and presented the menu to show there was absolutely no mention of charges on the menu for mayo, they simply just didn’t care. She brushed it off like it’s totally normal to charge customers extra without telling them.
It’s not about the money or the amount, it’s the principle about the shady way they handle customers. If you want to get gouged for condiments and treated like an afterthought, this is the place for you. Otherwise, skip this place and spend your money somewhere that respects its customers.
The food was average at best, service matched. Between the sneaky up charges, the lack of communication, I’m never going back. I’ll be telling others to...
Read moreI did not visit the location - but ordered through DoorDash. Will be commenting only on the food.
Visited the WINGS truck during Richmond world fest, and since then girlfriend and I had been craving for more. (Had Salt and Pepper, yummy.) Girlfriend generally does not like sweet in savory food and so this is what we ordered this time:
Jarkata Heat, Cairo Kicker, and Salt&Pepper, with the following dipping sauce, Roasted Red Pepper Aioli, Blue Cheese, Honey Mustard.
Jarkata was hot - this makes us want to try the other two hot wings (Chilean Chili and Bobby). Cairo Kicker was quite mild. It has that familiar cumin and cinnamon taste. And of course, salt and pepper will always be the simple go-to flavour. All 3 Wings had distinctive flavours and we were very satisfied.
The dipping sauce was great as well. Blue Cheese is a thick cheesy sauce that would cover the wing flavour a bit but it helps for people who want to ease the burning sensation of spicy food. (Other dairy products would help too, like milk, sour cream, etc) Honey Mustard, I ordered to satisfied my sweet tooth. Since my girlfriend does not like sweet, and I didn't want to order Honey Garlic or other sweeter wings, honey mustard was the fix.
Roasted Red Pepper Aioli is a real star - good flavour and it doesn't cover the flavour of the wing but rather it compliments it.
Overall, very happy with the meal. Will definitely...
