SHAKER Cuisine & Mixologie Rimouski — Restaurant in Rimouski

It is so disappointing that one of the only places available for a fun night has terrible and “picky” service. On more than one occasions I’ve been to Shaker in Rimouski and have been ignored or met by an unwelcoming bartender. The other night the waiter ignored me for over 15 minutes of trying to get his attention, I called out to him and also tried waving him down, he just looked me right in the eye and he completely ignored me and my sister, when he saw my friend who happens to be caucasian, he hurried to offer her his services even without her looking in his direction, mind you I’m an African woman so that clearly stirs a lot of thoughts on the situation, I have so many friends who have stopped coming to shaker for the very same reasons and I feel like it really needs to be looked into. I went there while taking a walk around the downtown part of the city known as Rue St-Germain. I stumbled upon this place. Since I was a walk-in client I went to the bar area. I tried one of their drinks called The Shaman. Tasted very good and nice athmosphere. It has some TV screens with some sports channels on. The place was crowed but way not overcrowded. If you are with someone and want to carry a conversation without screaming at one another this would be a good place to go for it especially if you are into having a cocktail to accompany you with it!

J'ai commandé une moyenne poutine au saucisse (12,99$) ainsi qu'un riz au jasmin (3$) accompagné d'un orange spritz (10$)

Bilan du repas:

Une énorme déception à l'arrivée de la poutine. En effet, j'ai immédiatement reconnu les frites surgelés de la marque "Cavendish style restaurant". Bien qu'elles soit excellentes, je m'attendais à des frite maison AU MINIMUM. Par la suite, que dire des saucisses... Ce sont visiblement des saucisses à hot dog coupé en biais qui ne saurait trompé un client averti. QUEL CULOT d'oser demander 3$ de plus que la poutine régulière pour de vulgaires saucisses fumées et poêlé! Pour ce qui est du fromage, on est clairement sur du fromage Quick Quick bon marché en sachet...rien à rajouter. Malgré l'ajout d'oignon vert apprécie, cela ne sauve pas le désastre culinaire de ce plat.

Pour ce qui est du breuvage, si vous vous inquiétez de la fonte des glacier, ne cherchez plus, ils se trouve dans les verres du Shaker. De plus, la faible quantité de liquide (10 gorgées) me rappelais le goût de l'orange crush. Le prix de 10$ semble donc fortement injustifié.

Pour conclure, le riz au jasmin étais ce que l'on peut s'attendre d'un riz au jasmin en sachet. L'ajout d'oignon vert étais toutefois une belle surprise.

Somme toute, experience décevante ou je me sens floué. Un IGA et un peu de bonne volonté sont suffisent pour recréer ce repas.
