New Dragon Palace — Restaurant in Rocky Mountain House

On my annual trip to Rocky, I like to find various options for lunch before driving back to the city. This trip, I found the New Dragon Palace. I called and ordered the #4 dinner for one. It was around 2:00pm after the lunch crowd. I walked in and decided to sit down and eat instead. The lady was very nice and courteous to me. It appeared to be a family run restaurant. She returned with my order and I was so surprised to see the portion I got. By the time I felt full, there was still half a plateful left. She brought me a take out carton for my leftovers and we ended up with a very pleasant 15 minute conversation. She was a Chinese lady and I am married to a Chinese lady also. I was very impressed with both the food and the service and wholeheartedly recommend the New Dragon Palace to everyone. I had sweet & sour chicken balls, beef chop suet, breaded shrimp and chicken fried rice. Everything was clean including the bathroom and next year I will visit them again. I ate the smorg around 5 in the evening and a few hours later I started getting the worst stomache cramps.For the next two days I was sooo sick!! Food Poisoning!!! It was aweful...Couldn't hold anything down and I heard from 3 other people that also got food poisoning from eating the smorg..the won tons tasted funky to me, it was either the won tons or else maybe the food had been sitting out too long in the trays...I will never be going back..i also didn't like how the servers and all the staff were constantly speaking in a foreign language so u couldn't understand what the hell they were saying...I think its rude to be speaking another language when all your customers cant understand it...Ur in Canada...

Fresh made to order hot food, professionally plated, amazing service, family run business. Super clean, excellent A/C so if your cold easily sit so your not under the vents bring a light sweater lol. Skip the Chinese in caroline and in downtown Rocky. This quaint little family run operation is a hidden gem. They keep the cost down on hours and glam so it's affordable for everyone. Beer and spirits available as well after a long day at work. Truckers like myself plenty of on street and if you call ahead when you fuel at up run across the parking lot grab your food and go park for the night. Been stopping here for years never...
