Gigi's déli et pizza — Restaurant in Rosemère

I learned a lot from Frank and Ginette as a kid. Frank taught me how to play GTA 3 on the PS2, shoot BB guns, how to download from Napster but most importantly, that a midnight snack can be much more than a bag of chips. Also, putting your heart into your cooking will always make it taste 10x better. From Ginette, I’ve learned hospitality, discovered Osso Bucco, and the values of sharing life stories around a wonderful meal. Why am I writing all these things in a restaurant review ? Because some food have a time travelling effect. They bring you back to happy memories and that’s what this place did for me. A genuine appreciation for food that was cooked with heart and passion that, “brings you back”. Of course this is no longer 1999 and Frank has grown into the best cook in Rosemère. Which is no easy feat. Congrats to you and congrats to Gigi! This place is fantastic and your sandwiches are the Bomb (and so are the pizzas) ! Those first few bites of Le Parrain brought back some memories of delicious meals...

La nourriture et le service sont corrects dans l’ensemble, mais il y a deux problèmes majeurs qui font que je ne reviendrai plus jamais dans ce restaurant, surtout avec des enfants.

Horaires totalement imprévisibles : N’essayez même pas de faire confiance aux horaires affichés en ligne. J’habite juste à côté et je passe devant presque tous les jours, mais l’ouverture est toujours une surprise ! On ne sait jamais quand c’est ouvert, c’est complètement aléatoire.

Manque total de respect pour l’hygiène et le public : Un jour, en déjeunant sur la terrasse avec mes enfants, un membre du personnel s’est mis à fumer à seulement 5 mètres de nous, sans aucune gêne. C’était vraiment désagréable, surtout avec des enfants. Et le pire, un autre jour, alors qu’on venait de se garer pour manger, j’ai vu un employé uriner contre le mur extérieur du restaurant, même pas derrière ou dans un endroit discret. C’était choquant et franchement dégoûtant. Comment faire confiance à l’hygiène dans ces conditions, quand on pense à la nourriture, à la vaisselle, etc. ?

They've managed to come up with a great airy dough, I'll give that to them, but it's overpriced nonetheless. A small slice of pizza, a tiramisu and an overly sweet cannoli came up to over 25$.
