The food itself was good, I’ll start with that. The waitress on the other hand, honestly so rude. I think maybe she was having a bad day, we all get those, but I do feel like when you show up to work and deal with customers it’s not a good to put your frustration onto them. She was right to the point, which I can get down with but that wasn’t the vibe - My dad, sister and I were all going to order the same thing so I said 3 of these and she got mad and said she’s going to take them individually, like ok? Just trying to help. Then we go on and my sister asked if she could have diced hashbrowns and the waitress all snippy said “it’s not diced, I said wedge so think of it like an orange”. Use those same words but maybe take away the HUGE attitude and annoyance along with it (insert eye roll). She never brought the bill to the table annd we waited anbout 10-15 minutes. When leaving my dad tipped her 25% and she took it, didn’t say thanks, walked off and seemed annoyed. He gave her $100 on an $80 bill.

Anyways, I think I would go somewhere else where the food is good and the server actually wants to be there because tips are customary and you want to make sure you spend that additional 15-25% on someone where it just makes...

If you're in Salmon Arm this a great place to eat, food is tasty homestyle cooking. There was five of us. At our table, there was a variety of everything ordered, an all day breakfast, burgers, which where amazing and the French fries I would guess they were cut there daily and they were out standing, I'd go back just to have the fries! Two others ordered senior portions, a turkey dinner and liver and onions which is hard to find these days if you like it. Everything was was tasty, portions where big enough that 2 of us took doggie bags home. Our waitress was over the top made us all feel comfortable gave us space for conversation and thoughtful, so accommodating with our mother who is the type not to ask for something and then complain after for not getting it. This waitress I'm sorry but I didn't catch her name seemed like a smart cookie, pretty organized and used her head and not her feet. Which I dont think happens with many service people these days. I guess I just old and critical. Enjoyed it and looking forward to making it a regular...

My family have always enjoyed the Home Restaurant food whenever we travel through Salmon Arm, however our last visit was very disappointing. On Saturday, Jan 6th, the restaurant showed as being open until 8pm, and we called up at 7pm to advise them that we would be there around 7:30 if that was okay. We were advised that the kitchen would not be able to make our food at that time, but we could order take away. We placed our order at 7pm and showed up at 730 when they advised it would be ready. When we arrived, order was not made and we were told that the kitchen had shut down and would not make it. When I asked why, the staff just said that they didn't make it and we would have to go elsewhere.
