The server was racist. It’s unfortunate that we will not be able to put a review for the food, because we had to leave before it arrived. The lady that had served us had clear prejudice against us. For reference, we came at 1:25, they closed at 3. When we arrived we requested a table by the window, because the one we received was rather dim. Our server immediately shuts us down, saying they were preparing to close. We were understanding of this, and accepted our table only to be shocked later on, when she sat a group near the tables we requested. She gave us no time to look over the menu, and quickly took our rushed order. Then we tried to ask for some drinks only to be rudely shut down and for her to say she was only taking meal now. Later when she got our drinks (which she placed at the corner of the table for us to grab), we had specifically requested two coffees, and she brought a third. We did not need to be charged extra, so we called her over after she hurriedly left. Please keep in mind that it was NOT at all busy at this time, and they had been counting their tips when we arrived as well. Eventually, after ignoring us multiple times she came and we explained the coffee issue. She rudely denied it her mistake and said she brought two, but when she saw all three, she walked away cutting us off mid explanation. She proceeded to go to a nearby table after ignoring us (and smiled at them as if we were an inconvenience). At this point we realized that she never once smiled or was friendly with us, but was with every other table (that consisted of white people). Very disappointed and will not be returning.
post note: the server also never apologized or acknowledged us, we had to call someone else over to ask for the...
Read moreA friend and I had breakfast here. I know they do a lunch menu but the decor just screams breakfast (in a pleasant way of course). The tables were nice and noise-dampening dividers were set up. This and the lack of piped-in music and TVs helped create an environment where you could hear the person across from you. And at 7am the place wasn't crowded yet.
The food was good. I had the 2 eggs-2 bacon-2 pancakes and my friend had the empanata. I felt like the amounts were generous enough and the dishes were colorful and well presented.
But the real selling point for me was the waitress, Harper. She was no-nonsense but in a fun kind of way. She was quick but also a quick-study of her customer. When I ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream, she knew I liked it piled on. It came with a stack on top! And was still sprinkled with a nice dusting of cinnamon!
She was there when we needed her and not when we didn't. And when the bill came, she signed it with well wishes. Just a bunch of nice little touches to the service. In my opinion this kind of thing really makes the difference and makes me want to come back again.
Great breakfast and lunch place for you and a few friends. I...
Read moreCora is honestly mid, it’s so mediocre. I got a crepe meal thing, with hash browns, scrambled eggs, suages and toast. The eggs weren’t even scrambled, it looked like the cook forgot it was scrambled, then attempted to “scramble” it, it was like square eggs. Also the portioning was horrible, I swear it was one egg. Half my hash browns were burnt, pure black potatoes. Very disappointing. Suages were good. Thick and juicy. Crepe was okay. I enjoy pancakes more. Lastly I paid 4 dollars for some Nutella for my toast. Watch for extra fees they might not tell you about because I guess everything is taxed at this store. Waiter was chill tho, wish she notified me about the extra Nutella charge though, I think it was obvious I was new to this store. Feel like I got scammed. Overall, don’t come here unless you want to waste money and get mediocre food out of it. VERY DISAPPOINTING. DENNYS IS WAY BETTER. Sorry let add that my friend had wet menu which looked like coffee in between the pages. My other friend had food on his fork, so he had to get another one. It also wasn’t busy. Imagine the quality of food...
