I want to give a 5 star, but there are a couple things that need a bit of work. But first I want to start off by saying the food is really delicious. It is all homemade and you can tell the quality of the ingredients is fresh. Our burgers were juicy, fries were crisp but not over cooked, the lasagna was hearty and flavourful. And the atmosphere is so nice with really great decor, it’s elegant without feeling too fancy. My husband and I both got The Night Owl, my brother got the Lasagna Al Forno, and my mom got the Wise B&M Burger. The only critique I have about the food is that The Night Owl burger is supposed to have bacon jam on it, which was why we got it (that’s a unique ingredient), but we couldn’t taste it at all. When I looked through the burger I wasn’t even sure if I was seeing bacon jam. Maybe they need to make the bacon pieces bigger, because I’ve had bacon jam before and it was super flavourful with a bit of sweetness. Their signature sauce on the burger is also quite flavourful, so that may be why. Either way, it was still a delicious burger, just wanted more bacon jam flavour. The owner greeted us at the door as we were leaving and we told him about our one food critique and he was happy to hear it. He said he wants his restaurant to always be getting better, which is an amazing quality is a restaurateur. My other critique is that, once our food was served, our server didn’t once come and ask us how the food was, ask if we needed anything else, or to check on us. She gave us a water pitcher but we went through that quite quickly with four people, so we could’ve used more water. I had to ask another server to bring our cheque because it had been a while and our server just didn’t return after clearing our empty plates. These are minor things, but I am a really great cook, so when I go out and pay more money than I would making a delicious meal at home I would really like to taste the interesting ingredients and have amazing service where the server is making sure we are having a good experience.

OMG you guys!! 😝😝 I just gotta tell you about my preppy experience at Filosophi! So like first off let's talk about Martina. She's seriously the preppiest server ever but also cares abt emo’s (me). Not only is she quick as me after I ran to my mom after she got me a iPod for Christmas which is like slay of her 🥳 (seriously doe- 😭 I blinked and my food was there) like helllo?! What. but she's also, like, the funniest person ever. She had me laughing my 🫢 off the whole time! But get this okay? she's not just funny she's like caring and supportive too. I'm like this 11-year-old emo girl you know? 😍💅🏼 like so slay omg and Martina totally got me out of my comfort zone She was so gentle and kind encouraging me to try new things on the menu. And guess what? I ended up loving everything she recommended! Also thanks for convincing my parents to get me some new food I haven’t tried 😅🤚🏻 PS. leave her a tip she deserves it 🥰 period girl! I never felt so connected to a restaurant and server 😭⛓️ So yeah if you're ever in Saskatoon, go find Filosophi, and make sure you ask for Martina. >_< She'll make your dining experience, like, the best ever! 🖤 PS AGAIN LOL: I FOROT TO TAKE PHOTOS CUZ I WAS RLLY ENJOYING THIS TIME 💀 but I saw what I ate on your Facebook profile so here’s what I had and some couple other food #BestServerEver #FilosophiRocks #MartinaRocksMySocks Also PS: pls make me a black heart for the next time I go, maybe add like a broken black heart? To begin, the waitress was alright, the time that we went it was very full. Me and my other two friends had to sit at the desert bar, due to the restaurant being very full. I was given adequate service, having members of staff refill my glass of water. The atmosphere brings to mind a high class restaurant with a low price to pay for food, the menu being very small, with a very limited amount of items on the menu. Customer wise, the majority of people are dressed up with quality clothing, this isn't a place to come with a t-shirt and shorts like I did, it felt more like I should be wearing a suit and tie, or a nice pair of pants and a button up shirt. As for the staff, all members of the team that I had seen had wore masks as well a standard high quality clothing and uniforms. Nothing out of the ordinary for a place like this. The cutlery Henckels, a good quality brand to use in this style of restaurant. The soup had a good balance of lemon to other ingredients, the pulled pork sandwich was a remarkable artwork, placed together neatly, and presented lovely. My friend had a hamburger, after trying theirs, I loved everything about it, the bun was fresh, the meat was fresh, and the sweet potato fries where to die for. As well as the fetachini alphrado, lovely food, high recommendations overall. The overall, this place is of high recommendations. 5/5

Amazing food and service at this restaurant. Very welcoming staff and was blessed to meet the owners who provided wonderful suggestions. Started with Calamari and Steelhead Trout Cakes both were great. Also had a bowl of lemon rice soup which was very good. The star of the show that I tried are those Greek ribs. Just wow that lemon sauce is mind blowing. I took a picture after I started eating them. Honestly the best ribs I have eaten anywhere. Definitely will be back to eat here again when in from Calgary. Like they say start the car and rush to get these ribs! I think I had dreams about them last night after eating them. Double chocolate cake was fabulous as well. This restaurant is a true gem from top to bottom. Update March 9/22 - I went back for those Greek ribs again since I have only a few more days left this trip. FYI they were just an amazing as the first time I had them. They are so good once you try them I honestly don't know how you try anything else on the menu LOL. If you live in Saskatoon and you haven't been here then you need to go immediately and eat those ribs! Your taste buds will explode with flavour while your mind is inventing new words to describe the deliciousness. Shrimp appetizer was very tasty as well. Cheesecake was very good and I don't usually eat cheesecake. Service was amazing again.

I genuinely did like my time at Filosophi, but I've taken a few stars off for some very obvious reasons. To start, the server was rather pushy on the special, which always adds needless pressure to the order, especially when the item is a filet mignon. No one should be purchasing that at a restaurant, nor can many people afford it. The price was higher than I expected. The appetizers for what you get seemed nearly double the anticipated price ($14 for 4 slices of small bread and some cheese). The burger was an okay price, but even a few dollars less would have been my recommendation for regular returning customers. The music was the biggest point. We were upstairs, and the music was loud enough that I was unable to hear my significant other week was right next to me. The decor of the place does not line up with "unbearably loud music". I'm only being critical because I want them to improve, I like the aesthetics of the redesign, but factoring in location so close to the university, you're trying to attract the university crowd with the location and music, but they can't afford to eat there. If you're trying to attract the wealthier crowd, or business lunches, they don't go here because of the music.

Horribly OVERPRICED. Portions are tiny. Do not waste your money! $14 spinach dip was so dry and chewy. It was literally just spinach and a clump of cheese on the top that I couldn’t even get through without breaking my chips. I found a glob of cream cheese in the very middle, but by this time I was already losing my appetite because of how disgusting it was. Chips didn’t taste good either. $10 Mac & cheese (TINY) + extra $2 for bacon (which would be a fair price if the order wasn’t so small)!!! So dry, not a drop of sauce in the bottom. Not sure if the sauce was burnt or what was burnt on the bottom. A Mac & Cheese should be gooey and cheesy, not dry. Go to Montana’s, pay a couple bucks more and get one 4 times the size of this!!! $15 shrimp scampi that comes with 5 pieces of shrimp. Ridiculous. What a waste of money. I gave 2 stars because the shrimp scampi had good flavour, despite the portion size being a rip off, and because the cakes were good (but still extremely overpriced). Both the mac & cheese, and spinach dip, were so terrible that the leftovers are going in the garbage.
