We usually come here because I live in Stonebridge. I have observed the staff’s unreasonable attitude towards customers a handful of times but today I experienced it myself. We ordered two earl grey tea. After we received our drinks we went to the table near the front to poke the lid with the straw. I poked a hole and the cup cracked in the middle, the milk tea spilled on to the floor. The lid was fine, still intact, so it possibly was a faulty cup. I immediately came back to the counter to ask for help. I showed that the cup cracked and asked if they could replace the cup and fill it up again. I paid $7 for this and didn’t even have a sip, the cup just broke by itself. I do expect a full cup. And instead of helping, the staff started to reason with me. Saying that they couldn’t fill it because we had the last two cups and now they were out of earl grey tea. I asked if they could fill it with something else and they said it’s not appropriate to fill it with other types of tea. I said it’s okay and asked if it can be filled with black tea or something that they have available. Again the staff said they could pour the remaining liquid in a new cup, but cannot fill it up because “it’s not appropriate”. I said I don’t care if it tasted different or weird, I don’t think it’s my fault that your cup cracked, I just want it filled up. The staff finally agreed to do it for me. Did I crack the cup intentionally? No. Was it so difficult to fill up? No. Did you have my consent to use a different kind of tea? Yes. Why arguing back and forth? Idk. It takes 30 seconds (and maybe 50ml of extra milk tea) to fill it up and makes a customer happy but you chose to argue and made me a full blown Karen. Picture of my shoes with the spilled milk tea. I’m glad it happened in the store and didn’t happen in my car because oh my, you’d see me turning into a monster. 2 stars because the staff eventually filled it up but I still don’t like the...
Read moreWaited 40 minutes to get my order. I ordered my tea at 2:15 and got it at 2:54. I ordered pearls at 2:54 because the male staff whom I gave tip to forgot to add it in my order. No apology from him for the long waiting time or the missing pearls in my order. He said he asked me do I want pearls and I said no. Actually he asked me do I want any toppings and he pointed to the area on the list where showed the toppings and I said no thank you. When I asked him to add pearls to my tea he just said that I need to pay for it. Fair enough. I pay what I order. But what is not fair is that I wasted 40 minutes waiting and I didn’t get my full order and I didn’t get an apology from him. Not even see the guilty face. He just served with a poker face and gets tips. While waiting for my order, I saw him dropped an empty cup on the floor then he picked it up and put some pearls in. He was going to serve the dirty cup to another customer who was maybe waiting for 40 minutes too. I stopped him and told him the cup was on the floor. He just said oh then put the pearls in another cup then kept working. I don’t know who was the lucky guy that got the dirty cup. I don’t think the male staff care. When I asked about my order to a female staff, she said it’s 45 now. My number was 49 so I thought it’s going to be soon. She was the one who call numbers and give orders to customers. Later I figured it out that it was 42 not 45. I mean why they lied to me? They could just say sorry and tell me it’s 42. I feel like that they don’t care your time or if you got dirty cups, they were not honest or responsible, the only thing they care is you pay. Eventually I talked with a staff whom said she’s the manager but she doesn’t have manager title. She did apologize to me but the issue is still there. I was not the only one who was waiting too long at that time. And I don’t think I’m the only one who is treated this way since they started...
Read moreUsually avoided coming here because of previous bad experiences but decided to give gong cha another try for their Boxing Day 2.99 deal. The cashier spoke very quietly and told us that we could only redeem one promotion per “group” (we were two people) when the Instagram ad said max 2 redemptions per person. The Instagram ad was also very misleading as it made it sound like 2.99 was for an original bubble tea and corn dog. The cashier assumed we wanted the bubble tea without clarifying that the promotion only came with one product. Because we thought we could only order one promotion, we also ordered a gingerbread man drink. We adjusted the sugar level, later to only find out they had a fixed sugar level. Once again, the cashier did not mention this when we ordered and let us order with the adjusted sugar level. However, he told the person who was making the drink that the adjusted sugar level was a mistake. The cashier lied to not only us but also his coworkers about the adjusted sugar levels. He failed to inform us about important details regarding our order and did not own up to his mistakes. This experience once again left us unsatisfied...
