I will be careful with my words. On December 18 of 2021 at 6:46 pm, I placed an in-person take-out order. The server verbally informed me the total is $36.08, when she handed me the Square credit / debit tap machine to pay for my purchase, I saw her finger press the 20% tip button. When she handed me the machine, the total price was $43.03. When I hesitated to proceed entering my pin, she gave me the paper copy of the transaction. I stated there is a price difference. The server corrected the price and insisted the tap machine was not working properly. A Square machine will not automatically select tipping options itself. The manufacturers do not program this option into their machines for commercial use. If the machine is not working, why was this machine not taken out of use for repair? That would be the logical step for any business with malfunctioning technology.
I ALLEGE, NOT ACCUSE there was an attempt to take customer's money dishonestly by this server. I ALLEGE, NOT ACCUSE her action is a quiet attempt of theft. I have her name listed on my receipt as proof and my bank statement will reflect that. I concluded many people use tap pay method and may not truly look at the price or receipt of the bill afterwards. It is not confirmed if this is a first time occurence.
To customers intending to visit Leopold's, be wary of your server's actions. This type of behavior will jeopardize Leopold's reputation and profit margins. As for me, I will not going back for food to subject myself to potential corrupt behaviour from server. I tipped her a dollar and I forgive her. I just want to speak truthfully.
The management at Leopold's can believe me or not, I have no gain from making up this story and I will not be accepting any attempts at bribery to take this post down. I will not indicate the server's name...
Read moreVisited this place day this week. Worst leopard tavern experience yet. Server was very rude for no reason. We were three people sitting on six table chair place. Next to us there were 4 people sitting and were eating food. Server came to us and said we will move you somewhere if more people come in because you are sitting here. She dint say this to them, offcourse they were white. (Privileged treatment) Secondly, she was not nearby, so we called another server for some assistance, she came and said she isnt your server. Dont call her call me out. We were okay with it, but she went by , i called her by saying excuse me. She dint replied. I was like okay might be busy. She came and I asked her good name so next time if she go by, i ill just call nicely. She said ohh dont do that, dont call me just dont do that in a rude manner. I was so frustrated at her, i was mad but i was still quiet. I understand we all do customer service and dint wanted to be rude to her. Next time, she came by asked , are you guys doing good. I said yes, we are doing fine, just waiting for burger. I said it really politely. I was not even complaining. She replied, it takes time, it doesnt get cooked by its own or I am not going to flip it for you. She said something like that. She literally insulted me for no reason. I dont remember her name maybe its sarah or something. I dont remember but this is a request, please let know your staff that its okay to be kind and its okay to be polite to people. I liked the food. I dint like the bad way of treatment towards me and am not coming again. The another server we called, was nice to us tho....
Read moreUpdate: the restaurant reached out to me and offered me a gift card to make up for the disappointment. I appreciate the response as I did not expect anything in return. Independence I think this shows a Goodwill by the restaurant to improve future visits. Moving my one star to a 3-star review. I look forward to trying leopolds again, I hope for a positive experience.

My friend and I each ordered the Buffalo Chicken Poutine. We were so disappointed. The whole poutine was drenched in hot sauce. In the past it was just a healthy drizzle. This time however was as if someone had toseesd the fries in a bowl and doused them in hot sauce. The poutine has almost no ranch on it. The poutine was nothing more then mushy fries and hot sauce.... Just texture and hot sauce. The poutine was inedible not because it was too spicy, but there was so much hot sauce it was so bitter and tart it made one feel sick. The bottom of the bowl had a pool of hot sauce in it, it was ridiculous. We ate less then 1/4 of it and sent it back. The frustration of spending $20 for such an awful poutine was infuriating. The server even mentioned the poutine looked "more orange then usual". When we showed her the puddle of hot sauce and how mushy the fries were she agreed that was unusual. However she didn't comp the poutines even though we did not eat them and sent them back, and agreed they looked unusually orange. This has left us with a lot of frustration and has seriously left us pondering if we will ever come back.
