Our server was okay, never came back to ask how our food was. They had quite a few menu items not available and not many choices for drinks, especially sugar-free. The tap water we were given had like 5 ice cubes in it and was warm right away. When I ordered a Diet Coke, it was just given to me in the can--no glass with ice for it. The restaurant decor was cute but the seats are so old and uncomfortable.

My husband enjoyed his quesadilla but honestly, this is the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. I read so many rave reviews about this place and it's still obvious that Saskatoon doesn't know how to eat. The rice was lukewarm and sticky like Asian rice with no flavour. The refried beans must've sat on the plate while they assembled the enchiladas because they were also lukewarm, dry and had developed a skin on top. The enchiladas had zero flavour, chicken was dry and the green sauce was tasteless. They only had hot sauce to put on top and it wasn't even spicy lol They were basically served like a chicken taco but in a corn tortilla. It was so strange compared to what I'm use to from how I was taught to make them from Mexican friends. They're suppose to be in a saucy tomato sauce. It proves there are horrible cooks in every culture lol

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and I'm SO disappointed in the food and portion sizes. Two people should not have to pay $52 to eat out with appetizer size meals. The only place to get real GOOD Mexican is in USA or Mexico itself, guess it's time to hop on a plane!

We won't ever be back to...

This place is a joke. Ordered carne asada and a burrito online from MiTierra’s. Said it’d be ready in 30 minutes — I showed up right on time and stood there like an idiot for over 5 minutes while staff walked by and ignored me. Had to hunt someone down just to get my food.

Got home (literally a minute away) and realized my carne asada came with no tortillas. I went back, annoyed but polite, and was told by multiple staff that they don’t include tortillas in takeout because their homemade ones harden. Excuse me? That’s not something you just don’t include without warning people upfront. Apparently, it’s buried in the “read more” section when ordering. Yeah, okay.

I pushed back — because I paid full price for the meal — and finally they gave me store-bought tortillas and told me to heat them up myself. Thanks for the crumbs, I guess.

And to top it off, the food? Cold and bland. Carne asada was dry, burrito was forgettable. I’ve had real, authentic Mexican food in multiple places (LA, Mexico, Calgary, Saskatoon) — this was nowhere close. You’d expect better from a place that acts like they’re doing you a favor just for picking up your order.

MiTierra’s overcharges, underdelivers, and treats takeout customers like second-class. Save your money and go literally...

Asked the waiter if I could order 3 separated kinds of tacos he said he encouraged it I thought I was ordering the quesa birria but I guess I had to pay extra for the cheese & consommé on the side (which I said was fine) but then I get my taco and it’s just cold cheese on the side in a bowl I try to ask why and then asked if I get get the right taco and at first he says sorrt and walks away so I gotta ask again “please with toasted with melted cheese” and I think he just took it to the back and microwaved it and brought me back a soggy taco 🤣 so I paid 40$ for 3 tacos 1 extra soggy one & 2 tostadas (those were decent) also I asked for birria and and barbacoa both meats were the same I think they just thought I was a pluma and wouldn’t know better but no that ain’t no quesa birria 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️ but nah that was pretty upsetting especially when I see all these other people getting good food and pictures in their reviews but I cannot say the same 💀… wish y’all would have tried to make it right instead of charging me extra for that...

was recommended this place, as my favourite latino restaurant closed down. i was told the food was truly authentic and this couldn’t be more true! all of the staff were very friendly, and you could here the cooks laughing happily in the back which is something me and my father loved, because it creates a warm vibe and shows they love what they do. me and my father both had flautas, which were very good. they weren’t the best i’ve ever had, but were still very good and are now easily the best you can find in the city(trust me!). i also understand that due to being in saskatchewan it can be difficult to access seasonings that may be required. they serve alcohol here which is nice considering not all family owned businesses do. they only have one dessert option which was very yummy but i hope they add more in the future. i will definitely be back here, and this is totally mine and my fathers new favourite restaurant!!❤️
