I need to break this review into two because on one end, despite it being packed and ridiculously busy, our server Brooke L (1017) was AMAZING. she checked on us without being prompted by her watch or us buzzing her. She did ask how everything was going numerous times.
Now that being said, the food... I ordered the philly cheese with what Brooke suggested as a side (tot supreme), and my partner ordered the prime rib with veggies and mashed potatoes, and an extra buffalo chicken Poutine because I honestly just couldn't decide between the tot supreme and the Poutine. He's always looking out for me. Great menu selections, awesome side selections, I've noticed some of the menu has been updated and changed since my last visits to the brew house which is nice to see a company reinventing and constantly up to speed... But it took us an hour to recieve our food, which was expected given how busy it was and as a woman who managed and served restaurants in the past nothing to get upset about... Until I took a bite of my philly cheese and tried dipping it in the cheese sauce. Yikes. COLD. Not even slightly warm. My cheese sauce (which on the menu states to come slathered on the sandwich) was on the side, I got maybe enough to Coat the bottom of the cheese container, not even half full and the cheese was so cold it had an old gravy like consistency. You know when you just gravy back in the fridge and it gets that gross lumpy, filmy texture. That's how my cheese sauce was served to me. It also tastes horrible. If you claim to sell a beer cheese sauce i am so sorry but it must not taste like pre-made powdered cheese sauce from a box/bag. Now my tater tot supreme, was so cold the cheese stayed in tact in the shredded like pieces. Not one piece was melted, I even dug further in to see if just the top have cooled but threw the entire dish was cold cheese making my supreme dry. The taco beef on top of the supreme was dark and old as well. So with no heat to melt the cheese, I ate the first few bites with sour cream on them and the rest was basically just tater tots. Not worth the extra charge.
My partner like I said had the prime rib. On a plus side the rib was the only thing kind of warm. His veggies, gravy, mashed potatoes, and the additional Poutine we had ordered were all cold. The poutines cheese again did not melt (a $10.49 Poutine!), the gravy was cold and the buffalo chicken on the gravy was also cold. In total our bill came to $71.62 for cold food. Now we chose not to tell our server about the food when we had gotten our meals because of several reasons. I'm pregnant and after waiting an hour for our COLD food I needed food in my stomach. Cold or not. The place was packed and definitely under staffed. Despite that our server was amazing and doing her best to keep up gracefully. How do you flag down an amazing server in a packed restaurant with no spare time on her hands and tell her your food is cold. I just could bring myself to do that to her. To make her rush or panic, or throw off her evening. And third we had already waited an hour for food, me being pregnant, and we're NOT about to wait another hour to MAYBE receive something warm. I needed to eat.
The food itself tasted good. Aside from it being cold, the cheese not being up to par or on my sandwich, and my tots being basically just tater tots after the first few bites rather than the supreme I had expected due to the cheese Not melting. The sandwich was good, the meat was good, the mashed potatoes and Buffalo chicken Poutine were good! But will we wait again an hour, plus, for cold food we are paying for? Probably not. We watched the service in the restaurant and I must say the servers seem great, they keep up with their tables the best they can, they do it with grace and a smile on their faces. But the kitchen can't keep up. We are assuming the reason all our food came out cold because they were waiting on the rib. Very sad because food tasted good, service was great but quality wasn't worth the wait or the cost we paid this...
Read moreA day off with no kids. We were pumped to go have lunch!
We have been to this location before and didn't have a great experience. But it was closer, and I thought we would give it a shot.
We ordered nachos and wings. The wings were on special. How could we pass that up!
My hubby decided to try something new. Usually, he's a honey garlic guy, no matter what! But the hot honey caught his eye, and he went for it.
The food came out fairly quick. Which was perfect because we were hungry! Nachos arrived first, hot and cheesy!
Then the wings. As she put our wings down, she said the flavors. She placed my husband's wings on the table and said honey garlic.
He thought maybe it was a mistake. So he ate one. He could taste the honey, but it wasn't hot. So he tried a second wing and knew for sure they were the wrong flavor.
She walked up to ask how everything was, and we mentioned the mistake. She fully admitted that she heard wrong and would correct the order.
Two minutes later, the manager comes to the table to confirm what happened and grabs the plate of wings from in front of my husband and says he will get it fixed.
Here's what felt odd to us. Typically, in a situation where the server clearly made the mistake, you would maybe offer to leave the food on the table to snack on until the correct order comes out. Having him remove the wings the way he did made us feel like he thought we were lying to try and get free food. I can assure you that this was not the case. These wings, which could have been left to snack on, now ended up in garbage. It's such a waste of food. My husband would have much rather kept those and ate them, then see them end up in a garbage can.
The correct order of wings took about 15 minutes to hit the table. I was done eating at this time. So much for enjoying lunch together.
Good thing I always check my bill because we were charged for both orders of wings. She quickly removed it when I pointed it out.
We love the food at Brewhouse. The quality of food is always top notch, this experience was no different.
It's the experience that leaves us disappointed. It's the level of service. It's definitely something the restaurant needs to work on. We likely won't be back to give it another try. We will stick to the airport location for...
