Food critic here. I purchased a coupon book with a Wayback Burger coupon in it. The coupon was buy 1 classic burger and a drink get 1 classic burger free. So i decided to go try it out for the first time with my son. We walked in a were politely greeted by a young gentleman with blonde hair. Very friendly young man happy as can be gladly took our order. I asked about refills on soda, they're free ++++! My son and I sat down in the back corner table, very nice inviting atmosphere we were pretty excited. Thats until what I beleive was the manager began to grill the young gentleman about something while my food was cooking. I was not impressed by this. I worked in this industry for a long time and I feel it is more professional to take the employee to a more personal space to discuss issues, whether the young gentleman was right or wrong, it definitely killed the vibe for about 10 minutes. My son, who is turning 8, said he felt bad for the young fellow that took our order. There wasn't any shouting but it was enough to kill the vibe of a first timer. The burger might've tasted a little better if the manager was more focussed on delivering perfection instead of going off on the young gentleman. Overall, the burger was good. I took note of the menu and I will very likely be back to try other things. A little pricey maybe because of the Jerry Springer show we didn't ask for. LOTS of dust on the napkin holders, I thought maybe it was from our seat selection but I gandered around a bit and it was pretty much on every ledge in the restaraunt. Kudos for the young gentleman who took our order, I felt bad it seemed like he was being bullied by the manager. I hope the young fellow cooks my...
Read moreFood was amazing the first time, Second time it was good so we went there again but Third time food was ok there was difference. We ordered buffalo chicken but instead of having actual patty of chicken this time it felt like it was a piece of chicken tender used as patty. It was small piece of chicken so much of burger felt like eating just dry bun. I have ordered in past from here for our staff party too but they gave all the burgers in big bag burgers were all not really in good condition when we got them.they should have packed them separately for each person as they were all mushed up. I wish it is not one of those place that starts amazing and with time quality drops. If you say come back to way back when certain clients leave you should follow it for all or not say it at all. As it does not look professional. I should have took a picture who has such a small piece of chicken used as patty for burger. It was same for all the burgers we ordered. Which I found different from first time. Other burgers are really good I have heard though but chicken burger no. Buffalo chicken had barely any buffalo sauce. Service was excellent the first time everyone with super big genuine smile this time it was like ok. I wish it stays like it was the first time. I wish they bring back that professionalism I saw the first time for each person they serve and bring back...
Read moreWe rarely dine out or get takeout but when we're looking for our once-a-month treat, we pick burgers.. and we've tried many places that offer them.
We've heard lots of good things about Wayback Burgers so we decided to give it a shot. We both ordered exactly like we would at any place: same number of patties, same toppings, etc. The only thing we changed is ordering tots instead of fries.
We were both a bit disappointed. For all the rave and great reviews, the burgers didn't live up to the hype. The buns were soft but more sponge-like than bread. The patties didn't really have much flavour on their own and the toppings were a thrown together mess. On a better note, the tots were fresh and crispy. We both tasted a noticeable hint of onion flavour. It was pretty obvious the oil they were deep fried in had seen it's fair share of recent onion ring orders. Fortunately, we both like onion rings so it gave the tots a unique twist we were ok with.
Considering our typical choice of burger style and toppings is pretty simple, they should have been done better. And although we're very forgiving of little things (like onion--flavoured tots), we can't see a reason to come back and try...
