Visited from Ottawa — Worst service ever. Over 1.5 hours and still no food. We had to ask the server to bring out the food for the kids. Checked with waitress several times and she kept saying it’s coming but they are really busy, but there were maybe 6 tables max. That isn’t considered busy where I’m from. Waitress never came once to check on us if we needed drinks, or to let us know that our food will be taking a little longer. We had to inquire and find her each time. Very rude staff. For $25 for a sandwich, the service should be phenomenal. Big city prices, low quality food. From reading other reviews, this seems to be quite common at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the owner and manager offered no compensation other than a measly 10% off. Not even one comped meal. The “manager” advised us that he didn’t care if we ever came back as they have “thousands of customers a week” lol, highly doubt that considering this restaurant has 3 stars and awful reviews. A restaurant like this wouldn’t last one second in Ottawa. I doubt this restaurant will last another year. We left and went to another nearby restaurant (Alina’s) where we ordered and got served right away with lovely service. Don’t recommend wasting your money here for mediocre food and...

We dined here for brunch on a Sunday with our 1 year old knowing it would be busy so we asked how long of a wait it would be. The server said not long at all. My husband saw we could eat outside so we went to the patio. We arrived around 11:20am and waited until 12:30 for our food with a busy one year old. The server only came out to check on us once after taking our order, offering coffee, not saying anything about longer wait times then didn't come out again for another 40 mins. When I received my food (the clergue) it looked like hot dogs on a bun when it had said it was scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage & bacon. The "French toast" was a hot dog bun that barely tasted like French toast. The server brought out our food but no plate for our baby making him wait another 5 mins after we received our food for a plate to eat off of. I have worked in the service industry and this was one of my worst experiences. I can understand longer wait times due to the hour on a Sunday however none of this was communicated to us and we were avoided the entire time whether intentionally or not. We usually enjoy coming here, but have had negative experiences before. We won't be returning for a long while. I hope the service improves or at least the...

A Racist place. We decided to try this pub after our Agawa Canyon Train tour ended as it was just next door. We were told that we will have to wait as the open tables are reserved. We waited for 20 mins and a table cleared and we moved there. We asked the server to clear the table and to give the menu a few times but they kept walking past our table, without acknowledging, so i went up to the front and asked the lady for a menu. Again she did not share the menu and said it would take sometime. After we got seated, 4 other couples came who were seated and served dinner. We then saw a bunch of cooks pointing at us and laughing. Finally we realized that they had no intention of serving us, so we decided to leave and thanked them for the horrible service. It was clearly evident that they were doing it purposely. In a service industry how you behave with customers matters more than how your food is. We ended up going to Fratelli's who also had a waiting but treated us with respect and served us well. Shame on Blockhouse pub for...

I ate here on a Saturday around 1pm. The breakfast and lunch menus were available. I ordered the Healthy Quinoa & Black Bean Burger and upgraded to sweet potato fries. This is pretty much the only option for vegan/plant-based eaters besides salad. (I’m a plant-based eater.) The burger was falling apart and it tasted like it had been fried in overused lard or bacon grease. I didn’t mind the falling apart; I “glued” it back together with ketchup but the flavor of the oil it was cooked in took away from the burger’s taste, which was pretty good. Sweet potato fries were skinny and crispy and good. The coleslaw was good, just not much of it. Our server was excellent and very friendly. The kitchen is out in the open and the entire restaurant has an industrial vibe. It was pricier than I expected, but the quality was good.

Too many dirty tables when we walked in (13 which all sat 4 or more so really 26 dirty tables). Menu said Kaiser bun for the hot Italian sandwich but I got served a Hamburger bun, they are not the same thing. Soup was good. I loved the space and decor. Lots of comfy seating options. Will be back to try it again and hope that the space is more clean and items come out as advertised. Service was lack luster and waitress made me feel rushed to order (without making recommendations or explaining the menu in anyway, they gave four different menus when you sit down lots to absorb) and then quick to take payment. She was nice enough but I just wish she had engaged about the food options or tried to up sell us in any way. "What do you want?"

I've eaten here a couple times and I have no real complaints. The first time here I had a burger that was wrapped in bacon, I forget what it was called but it's no longer on the menu. I consider myself to be a dedicated Reuben Sandwich enthusiast so I tried that my 2nd go around here. They're doing a decent job, good bread, pastrami, kraut, swiss and dressing. I wish the onion ring were hand cut and breaded but that's just me be nitpicky. The Breakfast Homefry Pountine is a interesting choice, definitely more of a late breakfast/lunch item for sure. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, and I didn't find the food wait time or prices to be out of line. All day breakfast is a nice option as well. Give this place a try.
