Ocean Club Bistro — Restaurant in Sechelt

My family was recommended to this restaurant and visited it for a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday.

The wonderful view and friendly waiters were really good, but the food at this restaurant was really, really disappointing.

I was so concerned about whether the kitchen team was being racist for a few minutes. because they can't charge so much money for this quality of food!

It's been almost 2 weeks since we visited the restaurant, but I'm still in shock.

Chicken linguini was good, but I didn't feel much difference from the commercial sauce. The curry taste was too bland and too little curry for the rice. (Costco curry would be three times as good) Today's soup is really a taste of adding salt to the sea water in front of the restaurant and roughly adding vegetables. Chicken Cordon Bleu had a weird sour taste and felt like he was eating a sandwich that was about to go bad; my sister doesn't want to finish this food so I had to give my linguini. The Lamb Shank recommended by the waiter was really cold and the sauce was hardening, and meat was overcooked and mushy.

Thankfully, the manager took the soup out of the bill, but I was really sorry that my parents spent $126 on worse food than a food truck.

If anyone really wants to go here, I'll make it clear that there's really nothing to eat...

My mom and I stopped in here on Friday November 8th. We needed a wee break to re-fuel before finishing our grocery shopping. Ocean Club Cafe did not disappoint. We each had a bowl of the daily soup, and shared the trio of dips. We were able to easily make our choice gluten free, and the gf bread served with the soup was surprisingly delicious (most gf bread is either disintegrates at restaurants). The soups were a hearty bowl of delicious comfort. The trio of dips was very good, however the hummus needed salt, and the spinach dip was a little bland as well. The olive dip was delicious, and bursting with flavour! Our server Jessy was lovely, and made sure we were well taken care of without being over bearing or phony (a rare treat these days). We came by for dinner and could tell it’s becoming a popular spot for the locals and tourists. Food was excellent but think there needs to be a bit of a cleanup in terms of timing for the food to arrive and order of serving tables. We (and another group) were some of the first groups to come in and order. Followed by a slew of small 2 person tables. We noticed as we were waiting for our food all of the other tables had their mains coming out first and actually finishing/paying their bills before we got ours.
