Golden Fry — Restaurant in Shediac

My wife and I heard good things about Golden Fry and decided to try it out. We arrived at 5:45 on June 30th and only had 4 people ahead of us. We ordered 2 large clam and fry plates and a Diet Pepsi. For 50.00 and a short time later we received our order. In high school I worked in a take out. I know the whole clams were torn apart to a strip before being dipped in flours, milk and egg solutions. My wife had decent fries, I had the bottom of the barrel, dry, cold and barely edible. This had no comparison to The Dunes in Cap Pele where every clam is a whole clam. I noticed Lennys next door to Golden Fry was busy. We will go to Lennys next time, or, maybe just go back to La Dune, where they serve nice golden whole clams. I will give you a 2 star. I have been going to Golden Fry for many, many years and I don’t know if the ownership has changed or what has happened, but I won’t be eating there again. One of the things I used to love about Golden Fry, was their french fries because they were real potatoes, homemade fries, fresh and crispy, but what I had this evening were rock hard fries that were not homemade and clearly double fried. I wish I had taken a picture. The other disappointment was the clam platter, which usually has a fair serving of clams on top of fries. The price is now $27.99 and there might’ve been maybe 15 clams on top of a heaping serving of these disgusting french fries that were almost inedible. July 2019 - Absolute best lobster roll in the maritimes! Ive been testing them all from Peggy's Cove to Halifax to Cheticamp to Charlottetown to Miscouche to Moncton to Schediac! Golden Fry in Schediac cannot be beat. Go ahead -try to prove me wrong. Outside seating only. Food is hot and delicious. Very short wait, maybe 7 or 8 mins top. The line never get shorter as people are coming and going constantly. Bathroom around back. Huge parking lot behind the buidling to park or turn around. Behind that is more picnic table seating in a small park. Not a lot of shade during the hot early afternoon sun, but shade to be enjoyed later in the day. I will absolutely return, and will reccommend to everyone i can. 6 stars...
