We went for the buffet, my first time, usually any Chinese restaurant I go to I will get spring rolls or imperial rolls over egg rolls ( I fell in love with spring roll and fish sauce when I lived in Montréal 15+years ago) well I have found a restaurant who's springrolls are not doughy ( they are crisp and crunchy and absolutely fantastic) and they have amazing prepared fish sauce 🥰. This alone warrants 5 stars. Now for the rest of the buffet. The beef and broccoli was perfect not over or under cooked ( the flowers arr soft and the stems had a crunch) .The shrimp and chicken balls are, well hard to mess those up , any kid would love them. All the veggies were fresh and crispy and perfectly stir fried this goes for all the dishes including the moo goo gai pan. What surprised me the most were the fried beef and porc wontons the subtle spices used is amazing at enhancing the meats, they were both very palatable in their own way . I enjoyed everything I tried and none of it needed sauce or additional seasoning. As far as buffets I would rate it the best in the greater moncton area. 👍👍 sorry no photos, I was enjoying...
Read moreMy husband has been going here for years and there's been little things here and there that he never complained about which most people would, especially them using stale buffet items to fulfill his take out orders instead of making it fresh but he's way too nice and easy going to make a fuss.
Last night he decided to call for them to make his order right because some of his food was burnt to an absolute cinder and was inedible, instead of being met with the response that you would expect, they treated him like complete garbage, not only did they not bother to resolve the issue, they argued with him back and forth and then he ended up having to drive all the way back to the restaurant sick as a dog to return his entire order and get his money back. Really?
Clearly this establishment has no respect for long time, loyal customers and we will never eat here again.
We will happily migrate our entire business over to House of Chau who not only makes incredible food (which in my opinion is way better) but also has incredible customer service to match.
Shame on you for taking advantage of the nice guy Golden Era. Two...
Read more⭐☆☆☆☆ I recently moved to the area and was excited to try Golden Era since I love Chinese food. I ordered Combo #15 with vegetable fried rice and chicken lo mein, but was given chicken chow mein instead—something I don’t enjoy.
I called the restaurant right away, and the person I spoke to said I could bring it back and they’d switch it. A few minutes later, he called me back to say I’d have to pay again because they “don’t do replacements or refunds.” He also told me he confirms every order and basically blamed me for the mistake. I understand that things can get mixed up—chow mein and lo mein do sound similar—but the way he handled it felt rude and dismissive.
As someone who’s worked in restaurants for years, I was really surprised by the lack of basic customer service. A simple fix turned into an unpleasant experience.
Wouldn’t recommend based on how I...
