Fast and friendly service here, but the quality is not what I'm used to from cobs. The sourdough isn't as sour, it almost tastes more like white bread. Also, it had a much harder crust to it as well, over baked maybe? I also picked up some mini cinnamon buns with frosting. I had one and could swear it was stale. My wife just got home from work, had one, said exactly the same thing before I could even mention it. The sticker says fresh, I'm hoping thats the case. Just something a little different at this location maybe? I've only been to this location twice now, and both times I had the same issue. I'll probably check out the other location to see if its something about the area vs what i'm used to from our old neighbourhood. Hope they were just having an off couple of...
Read moreI love Cobs sourdough, have for many years, but after moving from Airdrie (where it was amazing) to Sherwood Park something is missing at the Baseline store. The first time I bought a loaf here It tasted like a loaf of white bread, no sourdough tang. It was also over baked so when you toast it the crust burns but the bread itself stays pale. The second time it was good and consistent to what a Cobs sourdough loaf should be. Then the third and fourth were much like the first. I have never experienced this at any Cobs I have been too across BC and Alberta so maybe it just comes down to this particular franchise? I love that you are so close being down the street from me but I will be driving farther to try another...
Read moreI've been in two Cobs as of now. In comparrison of the two this one was much better stocked. They were clean and the girl at the counter was friendly (Though she seemed awkward when suggesting what was good).
Of course I got the Blueberry Lemon Scone, how could I not! They are phenominal. I also tried the ham and bacon crusaunt, it was alright (Though that was liklely my taste buds, ham isn't my favorite).
I would have rated 5 stars, but alas my Scones were not fresh and had become somewhat stale. I will be returning as Cobs Bread is still a wonderous place to go and one day I'll actually buy a...
