Hui's Wontons — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

Got takeout here and was expecting good quality food for the price but was pretty disappointed. We got the combo for 2 people (45$) (money we could've used to go somewhere else and get twice as much good food), which had 4 spring rolls, fried rice on the side, and we chose the 2 mains as ginger beef and the salt and pepper shrimp (3$extra for seafood). Firstly the shrimp tasted great but the portioning was pretty small for a main dish (only about half the container), and then for the rice container on the side it was practically packed to the top with rice and they both came in the same size containers, i was very annoyed about the portion difference, because their should be more food in a main dish than a side dish, the spring rolls were pretty good though. But the main reason I gave 2 stars is because of the ginger beef, it was the most dry crispy ginger beef I've ever had, you know how its supposed to be chewy, well it was like if they dried out beef jerky until its crisp and then made it into ginger beef, very disappointed. We stopped by on a whim and decided to give this place a try. My husband and I ordered the pan fried pork jiaozi, which came out hot, crispy, and perfectly golden. The dumplings were filled with juicy, flavorful pork, and the vinegar soy dipping sauce paired really well with them. We enjoyed them so much that we are already planning to come back just for those. I also ordered a sized small bowl of wor wonton soup. The broth was clean and light with a comforting, tasty flavor. It included bok choy, a piece of corn, a slice of pork, and a slice of carrot. The wontons were well seasoned and delicious. I liked them enough to order a medium portion to take home. Overall, this spot is a great choice if you are in the mood for some good Chinese food at home on a quiet night. It is convenient for last minute takeout, and the quality was a pleasant surprise. Had dinner there last night. June 4/15 Ordered the meal for 4. Wonton Soup was almost tasteless. Not the quality that the single order dish has. No veggies, not shrimp... very plain. Chicken Fried Rice - tasteless. Was disappointed in the lack of flavour. 4 mains were 'ok' - Nothing stood out. Shishkabobs were replaced with spring rolls - which were ok. We were not notified of the switch, and when we asked about it, they indicated that we should have known about this had we been regularly customers. Not good advice. Waiters were very 'poorly' dressed. One had jeans that were so low as to almost be indecent. The waiters did not look professional or 'clean'. Service was just 'ok'.
