Where to begin? Check in went well, then went downhill. Got up to our room which was on the 4th floor -- executive level/supposedly with only access for those on the 4th floor. Door was propped open for anyone to access. The door to our room did not latch - had to slam and sometimes more than once. The bathroom in the room was "really something" -- grout was grey/black in places, shower curtain was ripped. The floor was cleaned with round corners, and in the corners it was filthy. The toilet paper -- was not aware that such a cheap brand was available - like using 60 grit sandpaper!! Some of the furniture in the room was falling apart. The windows have not been washed for so long it actually looked like a permanent haze. |The Elevator was not working more often than it worked - had to use the stairs multiples of times. So bad they had a "premade sign" to tape onto the door. Staff attitude -- yes, we know. The elevator itself has layers of paint chipped off. |The award statues right behind the front desk, are covered in layers of dust. The front desk guy was 2 feet outside the front door vaping. Disgusting!! |This hotel is not one I would recommend -- come on Ramada you can do better. We recently stayed at Ramada in Pincher Creek and it was great. |The only reason it gets even a one star is because the bed/bedding was OK and they had Dove shampoo's and soaps. |When we checked using the stairs once again to carry our luggage as the elevator was once again Out of Order. There was a sign " Water being turned off", inquired as to why . The reply well it has to be turned off for the ...
Read moreHi All I have been staying at the Ramada Sherwood Park for the last several years while on business in Edmonton Alberta, As a B.C. resident part owner / in-field worker of an Alberta base Telecommunication company I spend 70 to 80% of my year on the road. As this has been my life style for over 20-years I have learned a few things about life on the road. The first thing I learned is do not stay in a dump hotel as it will make your miserable and your tools will get stolen. 2nd thing I learned do not stay in the fanciest hotel just because your company is paying for it. The work books, high visibility clothing clashes with the other guests / people attending wedding, proms & conventions when go through the lobby. You are there to work so if work hard you will not have the time to enjoy all the hotel has to offer. Now and then you find the gem that fits the bill. In my case it is the Ramada Sherwood Park in Edmonton. A basic Ramada Hotel without a pool or a hot tub but with a great staff. Front desk staff Charlotte P who always asks if I need anything and never complains when I lock myself out of room yet again, Andrew, Manager Rita and the other Charlotte at the front desk make me feel at home and always have a kind word. The hotel is clean and housekeeping out going and friendly I would love to complement by name but alas I do not know their names. I do know 1 lady is blond and from Newfoundland and is wonderful. I have been n this hotel since the start of March 2021 and will check for 1 week then check back in again. This a down to earth working man and women hotel from Monday to Friday and family hotel on the weekends. I highly recommend this hotel / staff if my comments fits your...
Read moreThis was a decent price hotel so I booked it. We Arrived and the employee was friendly. My friends and I were handed our room keys and we went to get settled in for the night. There was a pizza box sitting on the nightstand, towels on the floor, beds unmade and opened toiletries, etc.
So we went back down to get a new room and let her know it was disgusting and has not been cleaned. Once she grabs the key to get our new room she says “that it was messy due to the increase in guests due to wildfires.” All I wanted was a sorry and to take accountability. When we reach the second room she was unable to get it open, she finally got it open on the 5th try, after she asked if we take 2 business classes rooms instead for the loopholes that we had been jumping through. We agreed but then she somehow was able to get the room she struggled with open. Which was fine. She then told us she would stop by with compensation, she didn’t come, so we went and asked how long or what the compensation might be. She then told us that we were being verbally abusive and we needed to calm down. We had no harsh tones just trying to see how long this was going to take as we’d been travelling all day and just wanted to sleep.
We ended up not staying the night just based off of her unprofessionalism. We had a much more pleasant and stress free night at...
