I placed an order, picked it up approximately 15 minutes later, and did a quick check due to missing items on previous orders. After returning home and inspecting the order, I noticed several issues. The chicken Poppins were not full in the container, which was disappointing. My Buffalo Mary Sandwich appeared to be punched or smashed, with the wrong bun, a small chicken portion, messy sauce, and spoiled lettuce. The original Big Mary in the order had similar issues, with a small chicken piece, a flattened bun, and brown, rotten lettuce. The poutine containers, which are already small were only filled to about 3/4. The only good part of the order that met expectations was the drinks, which were in bottles.
We attempted to contact the store by phone, but our calls were not answered. After making several unsuccessful attempts, we decided to return to the store in person. I spoke with an employee regarding the issue, specifically addressing the problem with the rotten lettuce. The employee initially denied any rotten products or of the issues, but acknowledged it when I showed them the lettuce and food. They said the problem was another employee who was not there at the time, but were apparently there to make our food 30 mins earlier.

BUT THEN as soon as I put on my mask to go in and the clock hit 8:55, a worker SPRINTED to the front door, made EYE CONTACT with me, SEALED the store SHUT, and SPRINTED to the back. With the lights and the OPEN sign still shining strong, I rushed out of the car to see if they would let me just purchase 3 orders of the shareable sweets, or, at the very least, pay me the common courtesy of saying, "Sorry, we just closed our register for the evening."
I knocked on the door, but only the sudden darkness greeted me. I waited and watched to see if any worker would walk up, but by 8:56, a car parked adjacent to the shop was rumbling, ready to roll out.
Alas, with this blatant business blunder, I have learned that I must buy my banana puddings at other Mary Brown's that will not let me down.
Note: Google says their Friday hours are until 8:00 PM, but the hours posted on the storefront window does say that they are open...
Read moreThe worst service I have encountered in years. Arrived to pick up our order to find that the employee had given our chicken to the walk in order before us. Our scheduled pick up for 11:25 was so that staff had time to prepare the food as it was a larger order. So we said we would wait and asked to speak to the manager. We waited another 35 minutes for our food to be made. And when it was made it was incorrect. The manager was unable to help. I called and spoke with the owner as to why a staff member that was employed for only a month as the manager had said was scheduled alone for the owner to say that was incorrect she had been there six months. The manager was late to his shift and that was one of the reasons our food was delayed. The manager took no initiative to fix the situation and would not meet my criteria of skills a manger should have. I would ask that corporate reach out as it’s thanksgiving and we are now leaving when we said we would be arriving with food. And we haven’t even tried the food yet....
