Swiss Chalet — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

Today the staff went way far and beyond to make me a life time customer! I ordered both my daughters a meal and myself a full rack of ribs with all the trimmings as well as some sides and desserts. Not a small order. Well after receiving my delivery order my one daughters order was not present. Yes I got mad!! And remembered why after living and ordering at pretty much every Swiss Chalet in Edmonton began to have flash backs as to why I haven't ordered from this chain in awhile. Being angry I call my Sherwood Park location to let them know of the missing items. (I was polite and calm) the girl who answered was really apologetic and said she would have the order rushed right over. I however can not sit and eat in front of a child while they have nothing. I told her thank you and that we will wait till her meal arrives before eating. As I was about to hang up I heard her saying something. So I put the phone back to my ear and asked her to repeat herself as I did not hear. She responded did you receive everything else on your order. To which I replied yes. She then said since we were waiting for my other daughters meal to arrive she would replace the whole meal for us so that we could all sit and eat together. I was extremely shocked and am amazed at such customer service that this location showed my daughters and myself. This shows that some. Not all company's do really care about customer service and for that I am truly happy I gave them another shot tonight!! I will now only ever order from this location and will encourage my friends and family to only order from this location. Went last night to eat at Swiss Chalet. Please wait to be seated the sign said so we stood there for 5 mins with two people who saw us there and never acknowledged us. Manager doing paper work out in the restaurant and one server who just was not interested. I asked if we could sit down as I am disabled with a prosthetic leg and was told no by the woman doing paper work. I am a retired manager and use to work with different chains to improve service and motivational team building. This place needs help. I offer my services free of charge to help improve customer service and staff motivation. It is obvious that this restaurant lacks greatly in this area. This is what should have been done. The manager should have stopped her paperwork and seated us would have taken 2 seconds or told the server to seat us at a table.I also would have told the server you go great every customer as soon as you see them and if I catch you ignoring customers again that’s one strike three and you’re out. Simple don’t pay for incompetence. All we got was no and then nothing. We left. As restaurants have to charge more money I would expect excellent service as to keep my business. My money is important and hard earned . Why would I support this restaurant in the future. There are 2000 other restaurants so we are not force to eat and pay good money to be rudely treated by people who hate their job. I was told by the owner of this restaurant to fill out a form. I am only posting this review in the Sherwood Parks web page because this is the location my 86 year old mother in law and wife went to. I'm sure many of you watched the Stanley Cup Playoffs and saw the beautiful roast beef dinner they are promoting. My mother in law sure did. I just spoke to the Manager and he in between a rock and a hard place and he is not to blame. He explained the situation to me. All of the Swiss Chalet's across Canada are in the same boat. They don't have roast beef! Just some shaved beef they use for sandwiches! It was a very small portion and cold! One would think that they would pull the commercial so people wouldn't waste their time going to their restaurant only to be disappointed! They let you sit down. Order your drinks and then say we have no roast beef then give you some garbage. No compensation in any way of a free desert or anything. I myself knew Swiss Chalet's food is garbage and told them not to go there in the 1st place. I myself would have got up and left. The girls even left them a tip. Don't go to Swiss Chalet!!! I contacted Swiss Chalet's customer service and let them know about the experience. Swiss Chalet made it right and gave us "4" 1/4 Chicken complimentary meals.
