Tan's Fusion by Nakhon Thai — Restaurant in South Dundas

To be fair my review is only reflective of the lunch buffet. However given my experience with that, I would not return to try anything else. I am a lover of all world foods and this area has a lot of quality options to offer. This is not one of them. The flavours are not Thai at all, half of the buffet menu was Chinese and Canadian food. They did not skimp on the meat, so those who like chicken won’t be disappointed, but if you’re looking for a veg forward dish, look elsewhere. Hardly a potato in the yellow curry, only chicken and noodles in the pad Thai, and canned mushrooms and nothing else in the Tom yum soup. The rice looked like it had been sitting out for a couple days. If you’ve never had Thai food and don’t know what it should taste like, you won’t be disappointed. Ordered a Tom Yum soup and a Pad Thai. I usually judge a Thai place by the pad Thai and this one was lacking. Supposed to be a nice balance of hot, sour, and some sweet but was mainly all stuck together, over cooked noodles, and way to sweet. I don't even think there was tamarind paste in the pad Thai which is a central ingredient to the taste. Tom yum soup as far as I understand generally has shrimp in it and that was primarily why I ordered it, thinking I would get shrimp but it was too few pieces of chicken and mushrooms in way to much broth. No herbs or chilis or anything. I think the place has potential but they are severely lacking in anything I would call a good Thai food experience. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in our small town. We are always greeted with friendly staff and we feel more than welcome. We have been with groups of people and on our own and the service is amazing. At times, during peak times, it can be slow as they also do take out orders. My husband always orders the Pad Thai which is absolutely delicious. He orders extra spicy and they always deliver. I like to try the different dishes and they do not disappoint.
