I love retro style asian diners. This place is one of them and it's all the way out in Squamish. They open early enough for me to drive out and get some grub before the drive home. Now fair warning, if you don't understand the significance of places like this in Canadian historical dining culture, then maybe I suggest you ho elsewhere for your pretty little lattes and vegan sandwiches. This place serves old school western chinese food and breakfast and no frills burgers and fries. Places like this are getting scarce. As owners get older and the kids don't want to takeover the business it gets sold and gentrified. But as long as they're around, I'll visit them as much as I can as well as other similar style diners like this. For me the breakfast was decent, I'm not expecting too much. It was good. The lady there was nice and cooked us a wonderful breakfast. They bought this about 15 years ago (if I remembered right) Like it used to be back in the 60's to 80's. Call me old, or old fashioned, meh, it's just how I like it. ...

I understand that it’s not a 5 star restaurant it’s a greasy spoon. My expectations were low and still Mountain burger fell flat. Stay away from the gravy I cannot stress...
Read moreNorth American Diner. Simple and solid food that is low in quality (compared to European food) and, for what you get, kinda overpriced. You can't trade the hash brown (fried potato schreds) for something else, besides a plain tomato. I would wish for bell pepper and avocado to complement. The french toast, well, was very thin coated in egg (if at all!) and barely any cinnamon. The syrup is a flavoured sugar syrup with lots of additives and preservatives. Wouldn't have it again. Here maple syrup would made much more sense as we are in Canada! I'd also wish for organic eggs...
