Would give this place zero stars if I could. Waited 15 minutes for a drink order (the restaurant had many empty tables so was not busy and had many servers working.) Finally our server came up to us for our drink order and we ordered our food right away as well. I ordered two appetizers, (the dumplings and the soup which were just ok, soup was quite bland.) After about 20 minutes.. ALL of our food came out at the same time so my appetizers got cold. The tuna rolls tasted so off. I ate one and spit it out. We had to open a bunch of soy sauces in packages, instead of using a condiment bottle for soy sauce, which was so messy. I asked for multiple spicy rolls that didn’t come out spicy. When I ordered spicy mayo on the side afterwards, they charged us for it. Three different servers came up and asked us how our food was.. all not our severs. One of them poured us more water and spilt it on some of our food and on the table, didn’t clean it up just walked away. When our server cleared our plates we said we didn’t want anything else and waited another 15 minutes for the bill.. I eventually went up to the front and was ignored for about five minutes... one of the servers there made eye contact with me multiple times and didn’t come over to help.. I finally got our bill brought to the table by ANOTHER server. She just passed us the machine, didn’t ask how our food or experience was or anything. Just hovered over us waiting for us to pay. She grabbed the machine off the table when we were done and as she was walking away said “Have a good night.” As a server myself this is one of the WORST experiences I have ever had. They really don’t tend to customers at all, rush you, ignore you. Not to mention the tuna that was off was left on the table and no one even asked what was wrong with it. I’ll be calling the health department 100%. This place...
Read moreSushi Sen USE TO be a Squamish staple. Over the past few visits we have been less impressed. Recently we tried one more time, desperate for an eatery that was open.
We did show up near “last call”, and they were nice enough to seat us (34 minutes prior to closing). Sat down, ordered and while we were ordering some construction next door had us yelling our order at the server. Not their fault.
Food came quick, accompanied by fruit flys. Like a bunch of fruit flys just all over us. It made it hard to eat, but we were starving so we ignored them.
Our rolls were falling apart and it was obvious the quality of fish was poor. Not chilled and definitely not fresh. I knew it was a bad idea to keep eating.
The restaurant cleared out as they were closing, and we were respectful that they were trying to close. Mid bite the server came to clear plates that still had some of the food still on them.
In retrospect they could have removed all the plates with all their horrible food on them, and it would have caused me not just a $100 bill, but less of a horrible evening and next day - when the dreaded “bad fish” sickness came to me at 4am.
Mediocre service, zero cares about presentation or food quality and attacked by gnats…. How do I put less than 1 star?
Good luck if you choose this establishment, it will be a gamble on how you feel the following day if you choose to push on through your meal.
On the fringe of calling health services to investigate.
I used to love this place so I hope they can pull the nose diving plane up, but I won’t pay...
Read moreIzzy ruined our experience here. Our party of 10 ordered quite a large amount of food. Our first server was very kind. Food was mostly good, and was served really quickly. Only one dish was quite chewy and not enjoyable, it wasn’t eaten, and the party asked to have it removed from the bill. Izzy stepped in to handle the complaint and obviously is new to customer service and restaurant management. She told the party she wasn’t able to take it off the bill despite how much money we were spending, the dish was not eaten, and there was no offer to replace it. She ultimately told us she could take 50% off or make us pay full price. She was snide in her comments and facial expressions. She tried to withhold her name when we asked. As a party with guests who have worked in the restaurant business for fifteen years, we told her we weren’t pleased with her treatment and how commonplace it is to offer a refund for a dish, but she just kept repeating she was being professional and doing her job. We were pretty bummed out by her treatment. As a side note, I’d also recommend they clean the bathroom which was pretty gross, and the sticky tables need to be cleaned more thoroughly in...
