We ate here on April 8th
The atmosphere and setting is unique, the coffee shop looked like it had some real nice sweets which we did not try, however the food truck really sucked and ruined this experience. The prices way too high for what you are served.
For $40 which included a tip which I whish I had not left (could only leave one when ordering prior to taking delivery of the food), we received two small wraps and a soup, hardly worth $40, but its not the $$ which broke the camels back.
1st, once we got our buzzer beeping we had to walk out to the truck, which was fine and expected, but out of the trucks window came two bare greasy cooks hand holding our small warps which were wrapped in paper and had the cooks grease transfer from his hands to our wraps paper which was gross.
2nd, we were offered no tray, so you then need to somehow transfer your order from the truck to the seating area which is behind doors which swing to the outside. I almost dropped my soup getting to my table and the gentleman behind me dropped his order twice getting to the door and then we saw him struggle with the door as well getting to his seating and awaiting partner....
3rd, Lastly and most importantly, the food was not good. The soup a 7/10 was likely the best item, my wife's donair was OK but underwhelming; for $15+ is really sucked, should have been an $8 sandwich, and lastly my pork sandwich (Bahn Mi) had foul tasking pork, and wilted greens. I literally spat several bites out due to taste and texture and was only able to eat about half before giving up on it...
Come for the coffee, sweets, alcohol, and unique environment and there is a great ice cream place in the adjacent building, but skip on...
Read moreI placed a takeout order last night at 8:00 PM for an 8:50 PM pickup. About 20 minutes later, I received a text saying my order would be delayed until 9:20 PM. The text included a link to a live updates page that was supposed to show the status of my order.
I arrived just before 9:20 and waited nearby, expecting to receive a notification when the food was ready. By 9:50 still with no update I politely asked someone at the pickup counter about my order. After giving my name, they immediately handed it to me and said, unprompted, “You really should have come up right at 9:20.”
I showed him the text and the live status page, which still hadn’t indicated the order was ready. I asked what the point of offering a progress bar was if it didn’t actually notify when the food was ready. He replied, “Oh, we don’t do it like that.”
I understand things can get busy, and delays happen—that’s totally fair. But not notifying customers when their order is ready, especially when your system is set up to do just that, is frustrating. If your staff can’t manage the tech, it might be better to disable it rather than mislead customers into waiting unnecessarily.
In the end, it took nearly two hours to receive my two briskets. I’m sure they would’ve tasted great if...
Read moreThis is the second time we have been here travelling though Squamish.
Good sandwich selection with veg options.
This time we got the salmon burger and Tofu Bahn Mi sandwich and salmon burger. Bahn Mi had nice smoked tofu but as others have mentioned it was good but not fantastic. The salmon burger was the same - good but not mind-blowing or anything for the price. Prices included a side. The wedges with garlic aioli were awesome but the slaw was not. It wasn’t vinegar-y or creamy, it was kinda tasteless, just like the chopped veggies.
Happy hour prices and patio were amazing! Would return.
Oh and a little FYI - service is 100% serve yourself. Order at a counter, fill your own water, bring your own drinks back. Pick up food from a food truck and clean up after yourself. Don’t feel bad about skipping the 18%+ suggested tip options, we wish we did after realizing the service was McDonald’s style. No hate on that whatsoever, just the expected...
