Cloudburst Cafe — Restaurant in Squamish

My friend and i had lunch here today. Both sandwiches were very disappointing. The braised beef panini was extremely wet and cold and it generally lacked flavour overall. My friend had the Cubano and found his so dry and ‘flavourless’ he even pulled it apart to see if there was any mayonnaise or mustard on it at all.

Additional minuses:

The staff (with the exception of one of the girls) were not remotely friendly.

The cafe lacked a dishwasher so they gave us everything ‘to go’ —which created unnecessary waste.

The latte i had was unpalatable, it tasted watered down and was served lukewarm.

It seems like there might be new ownership? it wasn’t this abjectly disappointing in the past. In fact, it’s the coffee shop that I have repeatedly recommended to my friends since i used to stop by weekly. Not any more...

Thus coffee shop was highly recommended so when we were in Squamish, we had to visit. There’s a huge parking lot with lots of other interesting stores around. The cloudburst Café sells a lot of coffee and other products and we each had a coffee and it was very good. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was nice and clean and quiet. It was a nice place to go and have a quiet visit with a friend. I don’t know if it’s like this all the time, but it was when we went. Right next-door to it is another restaurant and that is a place that’s a little louder. I believe this coffee shop is affiliated with that other restaurant because they share a common washroom. Warning to first time Digital Nomads - they have a finicky process for getting on the WIFI. YOu have to get a code on a scrap of paper. In my case I got my food, sat down, unpacked, then had to repack and go get back in line only to have the code not work. The Cell data is a bit shaky so using data hotspot was not good. A staff member walked by and I asked for help but he just told me to go back to the counter which I couldn't do because I was in the middle of a meeting.
