Grazie Cafe — Restaurant in St. Catharines

My friend Kirk & I came in for breakfast around 8 AM & we were greeted w/a warm smile by our lovely server Ashley ( who’s also a proprietor of the restaurant along w/her husband Roberto.) The room was very bright with natural sunlight & good vibes & it smelled equally if not better 😊👍. We. started a conversation w/Ashley & she brought us coffee for my friend & a deliciously creamy cappuccino w/a an extra double shot of espresso to kick start my day. Food was ❤️❤️❤️outstanding & it was the best Breaky I’ve had in a long time & considering I’m a professionally trained Red Seal Chef w/over 38 years combined front & back of the house experiences that’s a very large compliment 😊😎👍. On my way in Grazie’s I immediately saw cannolis in their display case long w/gorgeous loving cinnamon buns & fresh & perfectly ripe cantaloupe melons & house made tomato sauce. I had to buy some of what I saw & I did exactly that. When I got home I made some coffee from beans that my brother & sister in law graciously bought for me in Jamaica, a blend of a few varieties of beans including the WORLD renowned Blue Mountain variety & once a began sipping on my Java I simply had to have a taste of the cannoli & cinnamon bun & WOW was I in momentary state of BLISS ❤️😊!!!! I totally recommend this fine family owned & operated breakfast & lunch restaurant & will be returning as often as I can, Thanks for a fantastic start to my day & all the best to you, your staff & rest of family. On Jan. 10th I held my husband's 70th birthday party at Grazie Cafe. We couldn't be any happier with how everything went that evening and even the planning meeting we had with Robert the owner. He provided us with choices for appetizers, made substitions I wanted and was so accommodating with all my requests. The food was freshly prepared, served on time and according to all my guest, delicious. He also provided a playlist I requested. All my guests commented on the venue as being cozy, comfortable, visually pleasing with the set up of the tables, the convenience of the bar and washrooms and having the large windows and the beautiful wall with the TV. We were able to decorate with balloons, banners and centerpieces as we pleased. Robert and Ashley were extremely professional, yet personable with all the guests. With good food, wonderful atmosphere and personable hosts I would highly recommend the Cafe for all your family...

Hit or miss. Today was busy, Mothers Day, and we had a reservation yet waited as long as everyone else. Ordered within a few minutes of being seated, and waited another 30 minutes for our food. They got my order wrong, and had me take things off my plate to switch with another. Half the plate was grey coloured potatoes soaked in grease. The eggs, sausage, and pancakes were cold. They got my toast wrong and brought me another plate of hard, cold toast. I ate the eggs because I was hungry and left the rest. The waitress comped my meal and apologized, and I can't blame her, but I've had bad food here in the past and won't waste any more money here. The place is popular and the last time I was here my omelette was excellent, even with the grey...
