Firehouse Subs — Restaurant in St. Catharines

This review is not so much about the food as it is delicious but after visiting yesterday to get 2 subs for take out I felt disappointed enough to write a review that I think is directed more at management of the St Catharines location on Fourth Ave. My first concern is one I feel every time I visit (which is probably every 2 months). The employees working on cash should be able to speak English clearly so that customers can understand them. I struggle every time to understand what they are saying to me. I have asked others if they feel this way - to learn I am not the only customer who struggles to understand your employees. Perhaps even if they were to speak slower might help but not being able to understand their many questions about choices and options for my sub is a real frustration. The other concern I noticed is that the subs have become much thinner than they used to be which I am assuming means you are cutting back on the meat that goes into the sub. I understand that the cost of everything has increased - I think everyone is aware of this. But I come to FH subs, which is a little more $ than other sub shops because of the quality of their delicious subs. After yesterday I don't feel this way anymore. In addition both our pickle spears were a mere sliver. (About an eighth of a pickle!) It appears you are cutting corners to save and it's noticeable! I would rather you increase the cost and deliver a quality product like you once used to. The subs were delicious as they always are but the disappointment was in the cost cutting measures that left us feeling like something...

I went there today after volunteering at the hospital, I ordered a steak and cheese for myself and my wife was specific on what she wanted. what a crapshoot, she is highly sensitive to onions , tomatoes , pretty much the only thing they did right was add turkey, it was so specific I handed the girl my phone so she could see the message from my wife. when we finally were ready to eat we opened the subs and I went to heat mine up, hers was loaded with lettuce , onion tomatoe, non of which were in the message my wife sent. there was no manager or supervisor in the store when I went back, they politely said we would replace it at no cost, like they were doing me a favor...Not.. as I was waiting for the new sub to be made another customer who had heard my complaints decided to check his sub, which wasn't right as well, he also was upset..he even had the tape from the register to say what was to be on it, not even close. I would have much more to say but trying to keep it short, I'll never recommend this place and be sure that everyone I know ... knows about my experience. I was there a few times when they opened, it's was great, now it's just an overpriced. disappointment. bad on...

I am not a person normally to write a negative review for a Fire House Subs business but i feel that i have to write one. I have been in multiple Fire House Sub locations all across the GTA locations including London , Barrie and the recently new Owen sound location! The 4th avenue location in St. Catherince has disappointed me 4 times now .. i have given it multiple try's .. I ordered the cheddar beef brisket (Amazing Sub) but ,have never had these issues at any other locations !!!! The buns were dry, ( taste like day olds) meat was dry and not enough sauce at all ! Im not sure what this location is doing different from the other locations but i am very disappointed to say the least after spending alot of money on multiple subs i ordered from a sub shop that has a great rep!! Also they dont say welcome to Fire House as they are supposed to with little to no care to there customers , as i watched on i seen this with other customers that day putting in orders ( not a friendly atmosphere) I am gonna try it one more time Today April 7th and hopefully have a different outcome..
