The Feathery Pub — Restaurant in St. Catharines

Our server was wonderful and friendly. Our appetizers were good. The fried tater tots with bacon and cheese were excellent. The French onion soup could have used a little more cheese but it was flavorful. Buffalo chicken wrap was a buffalo chicken wrap, LOL. Chicken, guacamole and bring sandwich was delicious however I found the chicken to be a little on the dry side and it would have been nice if perhaps the chicken was broken down even shredded so when you bite into it it doesn't come out in a big chunk and in 2 bites. A little more chipotle aioli would give it a bang even place it on the side. Ceasar salad was good. Though it was good I was not a fan of the sticky toffee. The the sauce was overwhelming tasting of salt it almost felt like salted butter was used when unsalted butter should have been used and it was too runny, it should hug the cake. The cake was moist but it was powerfully tasting with nutmeg could even been clove. And the sponge absorbed the coating of the pan and you could taste it. Understandably everybody has their version. So I only gave a 2 star on food because I was very disappointed this last order on Monday oct 28 5:50pm. If I would of rated you guys on my meal on Friday I would have given 10 stars if I could. I was so impressed by my fries and Philly steak sandwich on Friday, I thought about them all weekend so I decide to order it again this evening. But to my disappointment the meal was nowhere near the same quality as it was on Friday. The fries were a complete different frie as to the ones I received Friday. The fries on Friday were crispy delicious fries. The ones I received tonight were a different frie because the ones tonight had skin on them and they were very mushy and soggy. And the funny thing is I was 20 mins late picking up Friday and they were still crispy. And now the Philly steak that I received Friday was full of meat and flavor. The one I received tonight had next to no meat. It looked like more mushroom and onion than meat. We specifically visited The Feathery to try their poutine since the restaurant showed up on a Google search for best poutine in St Catherines. Sadly we did not get to try due to unpleasant service from one of the servers. The server that initially greeted us was great. But when it came time to take our drink order, another server attended to us and it went downhill fairly quickly. Her responses to my questions were short and it felt like she was annoyed that she had to serve us. When I could not decide which beer I wanted to order fast enough, she got impatient and  told us she would come back. Thrown off by her abruptness and salty energy, I turned to my date and asked where was the other server? She overheard me, turned around and said in an angry tone, with the most attitude: " do you not want me to serve you?" Needless to say we did not feel comfortable having someone with that kind of energy handling our food.
