BEWARE IF YOU’RE A POC!

I unfortunately had a terrible experience that honestly left me absolutely upset. I understand that during these times, safety precautions must be followed and I follow those rules out of respect for the businesses requirements to stay open, but the harassment that followed by the manager seemed less to do with COVID restrictions. I came in with a friend and had a meal, my understanding is when at your table you can have the mask off and when leaving your table, such as going to the washroom etc, you must have it on. I respected these rules as I do anywhere else, after my meal I stayed to study, while I was talking on the phone, I stood, still over my table, just not seated, and the manager came and unexpectedly harassed me out of no where. Never have I been talked to in such rudeness and harshness in my life for no reason, it was absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate, especially considering I have not created any problems prior and keeping to myself studying. I was threaten to be kicked out and told I was warned, which I wasn’t, for not having my mask on even though I was standing at my table just not physically seated. I absolutely did not appreciate to be spoken to in such a rude manner as if I’m a child considering I’m a mature student and that I have done absolutely nothing but kept to myself. I asked to speak to upper management but they focused more on the mask rules and less on her actions. I’m genuinely disappointed for the harassment faced which made me feel not welcome to a restaurant that was supposed to be the university bar I can come socialize and study at, and questioning the real intention of being targeted considering I was the only POC with in the restaurant...

Summary: A meal here will likely cost you $16-$24 after taxes & tips not including purchases of alcohol.

Environment: This is a great place to get a change of scenery for your studies. There’s good views overlooking the bustle of the cafeteria and different seating arrangements from couches to regular tables to high chairs.

Options: There are very limited options for meals and this is likely because it does not get enough business to afford a huge selection of groceries and cooks to make them. However much of what you are served is convincingly fresh and tasty.

I personally wouldn’t recommend coming here regularly as it can be distractive and pricey however it is a nice spot to come for a quick bite to eat or to catch up with friends in a more uplifting...

It is so weird that they close as early as 5pm or 7pm. It is a bar and grill, do they just not want business or what? Lots of classes go late, and people would want to enjoy their Friday with a nice drink and burger. I've never actually been able to eat here because of the terrible hours, but I assume the food is alright. My friends...
