New technology for ordering a remote board which sends your order directly to staff. I understand it is supposed speed things up but still errors were made so how is this supposed to speed things up. A ticket is spit out after you create your order with everything that you ordered after you are able to check your order on the screen first. Your order is assigned a number where you can see order numbers on an overhead screen letting you know it is in process or ready. Great. On another screen behind the counter you can see orders and what was ordered so staff can put it together. Great. I could see our order on that screen. A worker was working on our order and had items on a tray. I noticed there was only 2 cups for drinks on the tray where there should have been 3 as 3 combo meals were ordered. I checked our ticket and it did say 3 drinks. I looked at the screen behind counter which listed all the mains then was able to say 3 fries and should have been able to say 3 drinks because it is a self serve drink bar and it wouldn't matter what flavour was ordered. But it said 2 drinks because they were the same flavour and some other short form which I couldn't figure out. When the worker completed the order, 2 trays were presented to us I said we were short one cup. I then had to present my ticket to show this and they checked the screen and was then given another cup. Ok small errors easily fixed maybe technical glitches in program but still annoying. I feel more confident relaying my order in person having a social aspect to it as a worker puts together your order as you have conveyed it to them instead of having no contact until your order is presented to you then have to feel like a heel to get your order corrected. But even more upsetting was having to pay 25 cents more to get a second tub of barbecue sauce for an order of chicken nuggets. Firstly the tubs are half the size of what they used to be and you would always be given 2 tubs without asking and more if you asked for more. As a member of our party pointed out it is not cheap to dine here any more. Now you have to pay for your condiments too on top of increased prices and less workers. Especially sad since this location was located on the corner of Brock campus where technology has taken away possible jobs from students and has also reduced the value and purchase power of their dollar with increased prices. Cause let's face it this location is strategically placed. Sorry McDs...

We said that we still wanted another combo, and the order taker said ok asked for the drink and we told her we would also like to upsize just the fries to large like the previous combo we ordered. We got to the window and paid $19 and waited for our order. When we got our food there was only 1 combo plus an extra wrap which was supposed to be made a combo when we ordered it (even staying at the speaker box to make sure they got the full order to avoid holding things up down the line). Then we had to try 3 times sitting at the window to get the staffs attention that we were missing almost half our order and were not even given a receipt so we dont know that we paid for even now. Finally get someone to come back to the window after they realized we weren't driving away, and told them what we were missing (fries and a coke). They got us the coke then gave us a medium fry, which I get comes with the combo but that's not what we asked for (twice), and how many times did we have to correct that we wanted that large fry and medium coke? No apologies from staff and just this "get out of my drive thru" attitude.
We decided after this interaction we will not be returning to this location.
Just some tips Being someone that worked in a drive thru for over 12 years... I always made sure to ask at the speaker box if that was everything to make sure the customer is finished. Not cut them off and tell them a total because then you know they will be mad and need to order more at the window and slow down your times. I was always attentive to the window, if people should have all there stuff and are still sitting there, I would ask is everything ok with your order or do you have everything there? Not walk away and leave customers staring into the window saying excuse me excuse me?
Sorry but this was just a bad experience and the staff members really need to be taught how to run an effective drive thru at this specific location.
And if anyone was wondering the food was good, just the service was very...
Read moreIf I could give this dump zero stars I would. The proximity to school and home is the sole reason I have put up with the disgusting customer treatment and absolutely garbage coffees. Every time I’ve gone for a coffee through the drive thru, I’ve had to go right back in to get it remade. The timing is incredibly slow, if you’ve got class forget it because you won’t make it in time. The management are rude except for one gentleman, he is wonderful and leads his team well. Other than that the drive thru people look like they hate their job and refuse to hear they messed up an order. I used to work at McDonald’s so I know it’s not the most fun job, but when you mess an order up, it’s your responsibility to fix it, not make the customer feel like it was somehow their fault. I have never expressed my frustration to anyone that works there because it’s not my goal to ruin someone’s day, but today when I went in and said “excuse me my coffee tastes very watery, may I get a refund?” The lady rolled her eyes and said “ya”. She didn’t say sorry for the experience, or offer to remake it, nothing. The food is always sloppy, the Big Macs sometimes don’t even have Mac sauce! And the dining area is a dirty mess, and the unorganization is awful. They need a management overhaul and some serious attitude checks. Not impressed at all and I’ve gone to this place for over 4 years, and can see the decline in the last 1 and a half. I know that kind of behaviour certainly would not fly with where I worked, as we took the policies and customer service training seriously, along with competent management to actually enforce it. It’s sad that people can get away with treating customers like trash. If you’re looking for coffee and to not have your morning ruined, please just go to Tim’s next door and save...
