We really wanted to love this place, unfortunately our Tomahawk steak was not properly cooked and was sliced too early, so the juices ran all over the board it was served on, as well as all over the table. Over 60% of the steak was inedible and extremely chewy. We spoke the waitress and chef about the issues with the steak, but (unbelievably) they still charged us full price. They did offer to make us something else, but it was already very late. The chef knew I was still hungry, so he offered me a beet salad to go (to compensate us, I suppose). Unfortunately, there were 17 ingredients in my beet salad that were inedible, including 2 bay leaves, 5 star anise (3 full and 2 pieces), 8 cardamom pods and one other hard pod like thing (not 100% sure what it was). I accidentally bit into a star anise, which was very unpleasant. I'm not even sure why the salad needed these ingredients TBH. The mussels were decent and the service was was fine, but to pay over $250 when we left hungry was really disappointing. The kids pizza, potatoes and fries were OK. The chef was very nice, but we paid a lot of our hard earned money for a meal that most of my family couldn't eat. I hope they can fix these quality issues and get these things sorted out, cause he seemed like a really good guy.

Was looking for a Steakhouse near my sister's house for us to go out to for my birthday dinner. Found NGA2 with Google maps . The menu looked like a classic offering. The pictures of the establishment also conveyed the look of a nice newer style Steakhouse. Walking in the place was very clean and was certainly what was expected from the photos. I had a nice opening drink, Whiskey Sour, which was as tasty as it looked.. sadly forgot to take a picture. The server was very accommodating to my sister's request for alternative sides, and joined in with fun comments as I was saying that she can't do that. So the the server was the kind of server that makes for an enjoyable evening, curtious, pleasant then interactive, reacting amazingly to the fun tone of the evening. We both had the rib steaks. They were both cooked perfectly mine rare, my sister's medium. It turned out our server was also the owner and I took the opportunity to discuss how I enjoyed our evening and giving him direct feedback as to how I enjoyed the restaurant. I will be going again, I do believe I will be going for the Tomahawk steak. Also sang me Happy Birthday 🎂

This restaurant was recommended by folks in the Restaurant Niagara group on Facebook. Very glad we went. Friendly staff. Generous portions and very nice menu selection. We started with the beet salad and it was scrumptious. And I enjoyed the presentation of it as well. I don't know what their secret sauce is, but it's delicious. We decided to try a steak. It looked great. It was the perfect color covered with a nice jus on it. The chef cooked it perfectly - served medium. It was a generous size on a bed of mashed potatoes and vegetables. I felt this cut was a little chewy, but it had some tender bites. We topped off our meal with a flourless chocolate cake, which was surprisingly moist and delicious. We would normally buy a bottle of wine but we were both tired. So we took a risk & ordered 2 glasses of house wine instead. The house wine was surprisingly ok - smooth and non-descript. A safe table wine that doesn't offend a sensitive pallet. The decor is a convergence of bar and steakhouse. It has lots of seating, a gas fireplace and an open space dining feel to it. Free & easy Parking. Wheelchair accessible.

Having heard amazing reviews I have been dying to try this place. Being pregnant and craving a good steak we decided to go tonight. I checked online prior to leaving and there were loads of reservations available so I didn’t bother to book. Walked in to find no host and another couple in front of us waiting. After some time a server came and told us they were fully booked and not accepting walk ins. Confused, we went back to the car and I checked again, still lots of reservations available. So I made a reservation for 6pm (it was 5.50pm at the time). Went back in and same thing again, no host and waited at the door for 10 minutes. When a server came over I told them we had a reservation for 6pm. Another 10 minutes went by before we were seated. We were able to order quite quickly but then waited almost an hour for our food, with other tables that had ordered after us being served their food first. We were also not informed about the cut of the day at the time of ordering, just overheard it from another table. I had ordered steak frites with a lobster tail but when it arrived the lobster was with my husband’s ribeye (not a big deal, we just swapped it over). My husband had ordered his steak medium rare, it was definitely more medium to medium well but he said it was very good. I had ordered my steak medium well, it was more medium rare but extremely tough. I had to saw at it to be able to cut it. The lobster had absolutely zero flavour. Overall, extremely disappointing for both service and food. Also just my opinion - but I believe any sauce/jus that is served with a good steak should be on the side, so you can actually taste the meat, but both our steaks were...

I came in on Jan 27th 2024, we had arrived at around 6:30. The place was almost empty, so we were promptly seated. All of us were excited to try this restaurant because of the reviews online, but we were not ready for what was to come. Our table ordered a round of drinks, our server forgot to bring me the drink that I had ordered, I should have taken that as a red flag, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. When we finished our drinks this is when we noticed things would be making a turn for the worse. The whole night was just a night of waiting. Waiting for drinks, waiting for our order to be taken, waiting for our food! We ordered our food at 7:30 and it did not arrive until around 9:30. At one point we had asked the server if our food was even prepped because we would have just left, but we were assured that it was coming. Our steaks finally arrived to our table, I took a bite of my "medium rare" steak and noticed that it was just seared on the outside and not cooked whatsoever inside, it was completely rare. I am not one to send food back, this was the first time I have ever done that. I brought my plate to the counter as I couldn't eat something that rare. When it was brought back to our table it was doused in gravy as to try to fix whatever they did in the kitchen.

I was expecting a lot from this place, especially from reading the accolades of Chef David. I was thoroughly disappointed. It's been a few days since I have eaten at NGA2 and I am still haunted by this...

Came here on 01-27-24 for my wife's birthday. When we arrived the place was almost empty, we where sat at a booth even thou we had asked for a table as I am 6'5 and not very comfortable at a booth. We had high expectations of this place based on other reviews. We ordered within 15 minutes of our arrival and started with the coconut shrimp, it arrived in decent time. was good, but for the price I expected more than 5 bite sized shrimp. When we ordered our entree's we waited over an hour for them to arrive. ( I understand the wait time as there were two other large parties that arrived approx 15 minutes after we put our order in so we knew and understood that the kitchen staff were likely busy) My wife ordered a steak medium well. It came very rare and was very tough. I tried some myself and honestly, I have had a better steak at a low budget truck stop. I ordered a burger which was very bland, came on a partially soggy bun and it fell apart upon first bite. My son ordered the jerk chicken which to our eyes seems slightly undercooked, we advised him not to eat that part. The service was okay, I asked for my drink and my sons drink to be refilled and only 1 was refilled. Also asked for more water and it never did show up. I still tipped the 20% but felt that I should not have. $175 all in and left dissapointed. Will not be returning, or...
