Preston Pies — Restaurant in St. Catharines

Mixed feelings about Preston Pies. Meat pies are excellent and have become a family favourite and easy as it's on my way home from work. Pastries, from what I have tried, I have not been overly impressed with. No debit seems to be an issue with someone nearly everytime I'm in there. Last time, after the person ahead of me asked for debit again, I mentioned to the lady behind the counter they really should consider getting a debit machine for customers. Was told outright no! Along with the generic response given there's an atm machine at the Avondale. I replied I am aware but gets costly with added charges from both the atm company and your bank and is a hassle for your customers. Again was told no along with a smug grin. I've worked many years in customer service and number one rule is to never say no to a customer or make them feel as if they are uncared for or unwanted/unheard. Good thing I like their pies or I would stop coming in. Still, a once a week favourite has likely become a once a month treat with the arrogant and lack of regard I feel this woman displayed for her customers. Did not feel as if my business was appreciated.. so will see far less of it on your side. Might want to reconsider your disregard for your customers needs or wants/concerns. My $60 (or more) a month in sales just dropped to $15 - $0 as a result of.. Please spare me the response of we do accept credit card.. I am fully aware and find it astounding any business now would accept credit but not debit. We all have to change with the times in order to stay competitive. Public health reviews leave something to be desired too.. after that read I am committed to the $0 figure lol....✌....

This was my first time coming here I found this place on Google maps looking for a good meat pie and this place is really special...it's small but cute and they have a good variety of flavors. The best empire Cookies I've ever tried I wish I had got more than one! I came from Milton and it was worth the drive!! I'll definitely be back for more!! And the pies tasted good reheated too!! Wonderful service as well! Edit:came here Canada weekend and was closed and we came back August 9th when google says they are open and they are closed on the door says they are on vacation till aug 14th. We bought the frozen pies at the Avondale next door and they were defrosted by time we got home and were garbage. Nowhere online was this posted and I’m very disappointed as I drove all the way...

Preston Pies is one of the most delicious finds in St. Catharines! Their steak and Guinness pie is absolutely to die for—rich, flavorful, and perfect for a cozy dinner on a winter night.
