I’m a middle eastern man, and my girlfriend is light skin.
Usually when I go in for us alone , they are very friendly to me , and accommodating to our order.
I heard through friends that are not middle eastern that they do not give the same customer service to them as they would for me.
So as a test , I had my girlfriend go in and order the exact same order that I always either call in or go in to order. She had me on the phone throughout the whole interaction. My girlfriend is very kind , respectful and soft spoken. She is not very good at confrontation.
Long story short they were giving her a hard time over extra garlic sauce. Their meat is on the dry side it’s still good but sauce is necessary. The rudeness that came out of the man’s voice was awful, and not the same customer service I’ve received going in there.
The man and woman there are constantly kind and accommodating, it has never been an issue for extra sauce.
Then my girlfriend asked for more pickles as a substitute because she doesn’t get certain veggies , again never been an issue but the man huffed and puffed and told her ; “you have to much sauce and to much toppings”
What kind of employee or owner speaks to a customer this way? We pay your bills sir and keep your business running.
It’s never an issue when I go in but because she is a light skin girl he wants to be racist, ignorant , and have zero customer service skills?
I kept telling her to just walk out and not pay or not to accept the food but she is too shy and respectful to do such a thing.
You have lost our business , you are better off going to shawarma Baraka on Niagara st where they actually show you respect regardless of your skin colour.
I will also be communicating with the middle eastern community about this exchange as well.
Racist ,...
Read moreTry it!! This was our second visit and it was better than the first. You know when you eat something so good that you crave it so much you need to go back? Well that was us. We had the chicken shawarma plate and falafel plate. Both arfull of flavour and delicious. So much you can have enough leftovers for another meal.
They use huge square pitas for the wraps and not the usual rounds pitas. They then give it a little dip it in the chicken shawarma drippings before they grill it. Haven’t had one of those yet but likely very tasty like everything else.
The chicken shawarma is sliced thinly and looks like slivers of chicken breast. Each bite a flavour bomb in your mouth. The spicy rice is not too spicy. The potatoes are a little lemony and cuts the creamy hummus and garlic sauce. The chick pea salad another layer of vinegariness. The pasta salad looks plain but wow the parsley makes it so unique. Gives you the flavour if tabbouleh. You get six falafels in the plate and each crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.
Each bite a little different. If you are looking for a meal that gives you the best balance of flavours of savoury, tangy, spicy, garlicky you can’t get better than this. Hands down best Shawarma in the city. Must be true because this place was packed. Service was fast and friendly and did I say so reasonably priced? 12.99 for chicken shawarma plate and 10.99 for falafel plate. Lately we have visited many restaurants who have increased prices so ridiculously high that it’s hard to support or they have reduced the quality that it’s not worth it.
We definitely...
Read moreBest Shwarma in St.Catharines! I’ve had many Shwarma and today was the first time I discovered this place on Hartzel Road. This place was previously owned by an older gentleman however this is a brand new ownership. The place is clean inside and their menu is vast with many options! I ordered the Chicken Shwarma Plate and it came with Potatoes, a choice of side for which they had canbbage salad, Pasta Salad and lettuce, which was made with extra fresh ingredients. The chicken was cooked to perfection; thick juicy and succulent! The rice was extremely flavourful, unique yellow color! The potatoes were tangy, soft and were a great addition the plate! The manager even let me try the Shwarma before ordering! Like a taste test which I appreciate. The creamy garlic sauce was made with the highest quality of butter! As a Sharma connoisseur I can confirm that your hunt for “quality Shwarma ends here”! There’s lots of parking available as it’s a huge parking lot! The food can be compared to Pen Centre Shwarma and Square One Mall food court Villa Madina. I was offered a Points Card so when you Buy 9 you can get one Free, both...
