Valentino's Italian Food Market — Restaurant in St. Catharines

I went into this wonderful Italian Deli & Food Market & as soon as opened the door I knew I was in heaven because the smells were amazing & my nose was my new best friend & starting talking to my stomach then my brain & then my bank LOL. I was created by a very attentive & lovely young lady named Meghan/Megan & I browsed the extensive menu while continuing to take in all the wonderful smells & proceeded to order some food for myself & my housemates, veal parmigiana sandwich w/sautéed onions, mushrooms & roasted peppers, the meatball sandwich, 2 of the assorted Italian cold cuts sandwiches & the prosciutto w/arugula pesto. My house mates & myself just beside ourselves when we were eating this delicious food & will definitely be back @ least once a week if not twice!! I also bought some grape tomatoes from a local farm, each 1 was perfectly ripe & popping w/flavour & so reasonably priced for the quality😊👍. I also bought some specialty Italian cheese, spicy pickled eggplant, grilled artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes & Calabrese green olives & will be making a lovely antipasto platter for friends this weekend & now must go buy some equally delicious & satisfying Super Tuscan Red wines like Borolo’s & Chianti Rufino’s & I’m Barbaresco’s like Don PX Convento Seleccion Troncone Toscana Rosso & of course a few bottles of some like Pinot Grigio & Fazi Bataglia Verdicchio & Bucca Verdicchio 2 of my favourite Italian white wines ❤️😊👍. First thought was it smells like cat littler in here ! Like enough for me to contemplate leaving! But I thought give them a try , while waiting for the young lady to come out and serve me a lady walked up beside me, moments after the young lady comes out to take what I thought was my order as I’ve been standing there waiting but nope ,she goes to the lady who is impatiently waiting for her food to then walk away not saying anything. She then comes back after getting the lady her order to take mine asking if she could help me with anything ,well yess I’ve only been waiting smh! I told her what I wanted she walked to the computer to put my order in ,then like she almost forgot asking if I’d like anything else, I said I’d like one of the cheese cake factory slices. She said can I have a name for the order I told her my name and she disappeared again not acknowledging me…after waiting about ten minutes I got my sandwich which was not good the chicken was tuff I ate around the edge because I was starving and hadn’t ate all day! Even though my strawberry Cheesecake Factory slice was really yummy but that credit goes to the cheese cake factory! Honestly don’t know how this place is still open if that’s the experience you give your customers and I DEFINITELY WONT BE RETURNING $21 for the sandwich and small slice of cheese cake. Why I don't order at Valentinos anymore, and neither should you:

After getting a few orders wrong, I called and used specific language to make sure the order would be correct. These are orders ranging from 30-50 dollars each time, so small errors do add up.

After the sixth mistake, I called Valentinos to ask what the problem could be. The manager Marco heard the problems and asked for specific order numbers/receipt numbers to check the orders and find the mistake (Who keeps their receipt from takeout?) instead of rectifying the issue or offering any kind of credit.

This is an example of a business making enough money to supercede customer service. I don't hold anything against the teenagers working there that take the orders and make the mistakes despite using particular syntax or language to get the order right, but six in a row? come on now.

I thought the food was decent but overpriced considering the lack of quality for the price and the lack of portions for a little piece of veal or parm with a giant bread. I recommend going to another italian restaurant because their takeout will be better quality and there's probably some sense of...
