We finally tried out the new Eleven Sixty Bar & Grill in town and it was a fantastic experience!
My husband, 2 children and I ordered their $60 Sunday Family deal which included: 1 salad (Caesar or garden), 2 full racks of ribs, fries, coleslaw and 2 desserts to share.
We had a great meal, with exceptional service. The server we had was Kaidynce who was very nice, friendly, polite and came to check on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our meal. The manager Sergio was great as well, he came to make sure we were enjoying our meal and thanked us for visiting when we were leaving. All the staff was friendly when passing by or bringing our some of our food and seemed to really enjoy working there and working together to give an optimal experience for their guests. The restaurant has been upgraded and was very clean. The bathrooms were also clean and well lit. We sat on the patio and were quite comfy with their chairs and table. I’m sure Eleven Sixty will do great in St Thomas and I’m happy they have opened up here. I would rate the experience as a whole at 9.5/10.
Details on what we ordered:
We got a Caesar salad, it was definitely large enough for 4 people, and had good taste to it. Fresh lettuce and the cheese was good too. A tad too much dressing for my taste but overall we were pleased with it. 8/10
The 2 racks of ribs, 1 rack was honey bbq flavor and the other rack was smoky apple. Both flavors had fantastic taste, however, 1 of the rack’s was a more tough meat than the other. All in all, we would still rate them 7.5/10
Fries and coleslaw: the coleslaw was creamy and my whole family enjoyed, the fries were crispy and very flavorful. We would give these 9/10.
Last but not least, 2 desserts to share, we got the strawberry cheesecake and the 1160 MUDSLIDE which is a Mocha ice cream cake topped with fudge, drizzled with caramel on a Oreo crust. Both had whipped cream on the side. These were both delicious!!! Great portions to share between the 4 of us. We were all stuffed and could barely finish the desserts (but we did, because they were so great). 10/10 on...
Read moreYesterday we had lunch at ElevenSixty. The server Shelby was very attentive and did a fantastic job.
I always test restaurants on their Club sandwich; if it is a great experience, the rest of the menu usually aligns.
The bread was slightly charred and barely toasted but hearty enough to keep the sandwich together. The chicken was grilled as a whole breast, leaving a good chunk of the sandwich without the meat. There was very little bacon but the bacon aioli helped with the flavour. If it were properly toasted and the chicken was butterflied, I'm sure it would have a knock out sandwich. A brined and butterflied chicken would speed up service and enhance the experience imo.
My wife had the Jenny Brie sandwich, which she would get again on a different bun and have the sandwich cut.
The fries were good, nice and crispy with a "starchy" coating - like my favorite frozen Cavendish fries. Still think a fresh cut fry would be best though.
I look forward to coming back and trying out something different. If they made the adjustments I mentioned it would have...
Read moreWe decided to try 1160 in St. Thomas based on our positive experiences at the London location, unfortunately, it was a major letdown. I ordered the ribeye, advertised as 14 oz – what I got was a very thin cut that didn’t even come close in size or quality. I asked for it medium, but it came out close to well done. Completely overcooked and disappointing for what’s supposed to be a steakhouse.
My husband had the blackened chicken, which was another huge disappointment. It wasn’t blackened at all – just covered in some strange sauce, unseasoned and lacking the flavor we’re familiar with at the London spot. It tasted completely off.
To make matters worse, the decor felt surprisingly run down for a new restaurant. Disappointing dining experience and the waitress wasn't particularly friendly.
If you’re going to open a second location, you need to maintain the same standards. St. Thomas diners deserve the same quality and consistency as those in London. Unfortunately, this felt like a watered-down version of a great restaurant. We...
