Hansik — Restaurant in Stratford

Was really excited seeing the number of 5 star reviews, but have to be honest it’s definition of mid.

It’s in a mall food court, but easily accessible, staff was very nice, kind of expensive but hey was going to be worth it.

Didn’t even finish the food, was just bad mall court Asian food. Everything was soggy, had generic sauces on it, rice was doing its own thing which was neither appealing in texture or taste.

Biggest let down was the Chinese restaurant beside it was very busy and looked amazing, but talked myself out of it based on the online reviews, not a great choice.

It’s not inedible, and do think they tried hence the 2 star, could also of just gotten a bad bowl but will never know...

Absolutely amazing. Their food is so delicious. I am a Korean food lover and have had a lot of it over the years. Hansik by far rates up in the top 5. I had their Kimchi pancake and Beef Bibimpap. I love Kimchi but only heated and this pancake was the perfect blend of batter and Kimchi. Not too spicy but just enough of a tingle to get your mouth going. I would come back just for it. The Bibimpap was fresh, tasty and yummy. You can have it spicy, half spicy or no spicy. I got it half spicy and it was perfect.

The staff is extremely welcoming and kind. They’ve always done an amazing job helping me truly understand a dish I haven’t tried yet. They recommend the shrimp yubuchobap. I was surprised by how amazing it was for being a cold dish as I usually choose a warm dish. I will be ordering it again the flavours were balanced really well and the rice is always so fluffy!
