This is the first and a "must visit" Hong Kong style cafe on PEI. The owner is admirable for his insistence of peculiarity, quality, taste and affordability. He is polite and attentive.
We ordered several Dim Sum and meals for brunch.
The deep fried stuffed pork dumplings are crispy. Its sticky rice surface is so soft that it gives you a surprisingly delightful texture. As shown in a picture, the ingredients show the chef's generosity.
The BBQ pork buns consist of lots of lean pork. This is significantly different from some other Chinese restaurants, which stuff a lot of fat pork into a bun. The sweetness and the saltiness of the BBQ pork are well balanced.
The congee with preserved egg and lean pork is well cooked. The congee is thick. The ingredients are also rich. The taste is not too salty.
The Hong Kong chow mein with veggie is meticulously fried and crispy. The veggie gives you an extra layer of texture when you eat the noodle together with the veggies.
The seafood fried rice with pineapples is tasty. The rice is well fried that it is in particular form and does not stick together. This means the chef prepared well in dehydrating the cooked rice. The mussels are fresh and still have the taste of sea water.
The iced milk tea is silky and not too sweet.
The place is cozy and clean. It also offers a nice sunroom and a beautiful view of the seashore.
This cafe will for sure offer you a...
Read moreWe arrived Summerside and were not sure where to eat but tried to look for oriental food. We got stumble on the name Moment’s Cafe with a picture of Chinese food and saw 5 stars rating so we decided to go there. When we arrived, we were skeptical and almost didn’t want to go inside since we didn’t see any other cars around. However, we were hungry and did not want to drive around anymore, we went in and immediately met a nice gentleman who works there. He was very nice, took orders, and told us that since the food are cooked on orders so it will be a little wait…We were very happy when the food came out fresh and hot. We are everything we ordered and they all were so good and so yummy. The chowmein noodles, fried rice, pork buns, chicken feet were really good and the gentleman said they were cook in Hongkong style. I think that was why the chowmein dish was yummy because they used the thin noodles instead of a regular thick kind that I usually ate where else. Keep up the good works Moment’s Cafe. Your icream on top of home-made waffle created an amazing desert dish that we are still talking about it 🤗 We certainly will come back again when we visit Prince Edward Island next time. Thanks again for feeding us that day that we arrived to your place. Highly...

We ordered the Dim Sum menu and each and every peice was perfect the Ha Gow has a perfectly translucent surface and it is perfectly filled and shaped.
The egg rolls were exceptionally crunchy and again delicious filling.
Lastly we had a deep fried pork dumpling. This was my absolute favorite dish. I had it a lot growing up but this one was exceptionally memorable. The outside was very very crispy but not super oily, as you bit in the crunch became soft, great transition. The filling was well balanced with well flavored pork.
The location is central to Summerside. The interior is small but tables are well spaced!
The price is a bit high but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. I'll be back next time...
