Decided to give this place a try with the Patullo bridge lane closures being a bit of a pain to get to New West for our fav place Cockney Kings.
Little bit tough to find in the back corner behind some scaffolding due to work being done on the facade of the building. Got there and 1 other table only with people. There was only the owner working the tables and kitchen and it was obvious he was in over his head doing both jobs. When he finally came to take our order, it went wrong from there. English was difficult for him and he kept interrupting as I was trying to tell him what I wanted. I wanted to order just a single piece of halibut pan seared, no breading. He advised me he couldn't do the single piece fish but if I ordered the entree meal, he could because the fish was a larger portion. Easier to cook in the pan. I said ok but all I want is the fish. No meal, no sides, just the fish. I wasn't about to spend $18 just for 8oz of fish. Had to go over it 4 times, so not convinced he understood Then my husband told him he did want the meal but 2 pieces of fish. He said, ok 2 entrĆ©es. No, not 2 entrĆ©es, just meal with 2 pieces of fish. Ok. So again my husband reiterated, I want 2 pieces of fish battered (like fish and chips is usually done, or so he thought..) , then just a single piece of fish for my wife, no batter only pan sear. Ok. Meal came. We both got lightly battered pan fried fish. š In the end the fish was still tasty and portions large so that's why I gave 3 stars but the communication with the owner was painful and he got our order wrong. . After all that, it was $70 for 3 pieces of fish, an appy and 2 side salads. Would I eat here again? ...

We used to be regulars 7+ years ago....today, we ordered tha family pack. It cost approximately $45.00. I have to be unbiased, and totally honest. Tha quality has totally gone downhill. It used to be thick, juicy pieces of fish. Today, we got thinly filleted fish, that was over cooked, and excessively greasy. It was so physically hard, that I'm sure tha fish was very old? No taste. It was horrible. I'll never give him business again. I'm sorry to say this, but it was very unpleasant. He needs to focus on more quality, and forget about quantity....I found that my credit card was charged twice for $45.00. (tha asian owner told me that it did not go through tha 1st time, so I swiped a 2nd time). I phoned the establishment, and asked for tha owner/manager. An asian guy answered, and told me that they are on vacation, and before I could say another word, he hung up on me. When I attempted to call back, it went straight to voicemail. The voice mail was full, so I could not leave a message....this is unresolved, and I was charged double for food that was unsatisfactory. I...

Upon entering there was a smoky haze inside.. we sat down and got given our popcorn shrimp very quickly which would have been good if they didnāt taste like super salty onion rings. We asked for tartar sauce with them, we were told we would get tarter with the fish and to use the sauce we got with the shrimp but we wanted some tarter with the popcorn shrimp too lol. He gave it to us and to our disappointment the tarter just tasted like mayonnaise. While we waited our food we heard the microwave get used quite frequently which is never a good sign⦠I havenāt even got my food yet and Iām writing this, I know itās gonna be trash. Kinda feel like leaving nowā¦. I received my fish and chips⦠wish I would have just left after the popcorn shrimp. Looked like a good portion but it was all batter.
