Sammy J's Grill & Bar South Surrey — Restaurant in Surrey

Okay so I have been here quite a few times & normally the service is decent, but within my last 3 times being here it has been TERRIBLE! And today was the WORST! I ordered their BBQ chicken pizza & yam fries to spilt with my guest. When the food finally arrived whoever brought out the food (not our server) went away quite quickly so there wasn't time to ask for chilli-peppers and cheese (for the top of the pizza). Usually after a couple of bites, the waitress/waiter would come by and ask how the food was tasting, so my guest and I were patiently waiting because I wanted to have chilli-peppers and cheese to put on my pizza and the sauce with the yam fries was MUSTARD and we wanted to switch it. We waited for almost 30 minutes and nobody came by, I had no more water left and my guest had to walk up to a random hostess/waitress who had said she would get the chilli-peppers & sauce etc. Our server made eye-contact with us several times & kept walking away! Like it would have been nice to been asked, how the food was tasting. Pretty much the whole duration was waiting and looking around to see if anyone was able to ask how we were doing, but nope we had to get up and walk to a random waitress to get out voices heard. Of course the chilli-peppers, cheese, and sauce STILL was not coming that when our server walked by we literally had our hand up and finally got her attention. Sammy Js welcomes Skip the dishes orders now for delivery as well as many other options, but after placing my order with Skip the dishes - and contactless delivery through the 2020 pandemic the driver delivered the order to the wrong address ,wrong door, I contacted Skip the dishes and they told me they would not refund my order. While on the phone with Skip the dishes - Grant form Sammy Js operating manager south surrey called me, to let me know an unknown man received my order from Skip the dishes not once but many times . I thanked Grant so much for contacting me to let me know the driver was delivering to orders to the wrong door. I let grant know that because I did not receive my order through Skip the dishes that I had placed a second order the exact same in, and added delivery instructions for the order to make the address more clear. Grant made sure the order was delivered by taking matters into his own hands , and hand delivered ( 2 meters apart ) my Skip the dishes order to make sure that his Sammy J peppers client was happy. I recently dined at a restaurant and had the pleasure of being served by the lovely Vanessa. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and attentive demeanor. Her extensive knowledge of the menu made it easy for me to choose what I wanted to eat, and her suggestion of the daily special was spot on. Not only was her service impeccable, but she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and happy with my dining experience.

But it's not just Vanessa who made my meal exceptional. Cam was also incredibly helpful. When I mentioned that I had a dietary restriction, he went out of his way to accommodate my needs and made sure that my meal was prepared to my specifications.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. But what really made the experience memorable was the exceptional service from Vanessa and Cam. They truly embody the meaning of great customer service and made me feel valued as a customer.
