We went there at 10:20 pm on a Saturday night and the waitress straight away said that they're closing soon and only do pickup orders. I asked her to ask the boss if we could have a seat since they close in 40 min. They allowed us to sit (we were 2 people). Right away they were very rude and said the kitchen was closing and that we had to order quickly. We ordered in 2 minutes; 2 dishes and plain rice. When she brought the food she asked us if we wanted anything else, to which we said no. Then she said, "ok, so the kitchen is now closed". All the 3 dishes were served with chopped cilantro on top as garnish. The cilantro on the white rice was very visibly soily and unwashed, it stained my fingers brown and grainy when I rubbed it. After telling her, she inspected it using her fingers in front of us to feel the cilantro - very unprofessional - then went to the kitchen. She came back with another plate of rice which ALSO had dirty cilantro and said "this is a new plate". After asking her what it was, she said she didn't know. We just removed all the cilantro garnish and didn't eat it. Nor did she apologize. Her demeanor during the whole service was mean and not professional. While eating, she was staring at us as if trying to rush us. We rushed and went to pay 5 minutes before closing at which point she wanted to charge my credit card without giving me a receipt first. On the receipt were 2x 25c charges for a bag and plastic container which were not told were extra charges. I told her that we should be informed about this beforehand and she had nothing to say. She proceeded to charge the amount on the receipt without considering what I even said. It a such a shame to receive such terrible service when paying over...
Read moreMy family was invited to this restaurant recently. It was our first time visiting this place . From outside it may not seem big but inside it has a restaurant and a big gall for special occasions. Chairs and tables are decent, could be better , the usual safe mode, go leather or fake leather benches , chairs with not so pleasing cover that come off very easily, but somewhat comfy . The tables have all a glass on top even though they’re wooden . Glass is and stays very greasy, foggy and with streaks , no matter how much the waitress cleaned . Not very pleasant to the eye . The staff is very friendly and go above and beyond the guests needs and wishes for meals . The food came in a good timely manner, was so delicious. We may had all our favourites, but all in all everything was done well . After the food I ordered some chai which came in a small with a cup and saucer which I really liked , but then pouring it from that pot I lost half of my tea , cause the mouth of it was very open and too smooth . We’ll I didn’t complain about that , just didn’t want my dinner to be ruined by that . Then ordered another one , this time it came in a different pot . Maybe they’ve noticed my struggle lol . But i appreciated it . We wanted to have some dessert and were suggested the freshly made carrot halwa, which was amazing. Finally full and happy with left the restaurant with big smile and a big tip for our servers who were really happy , hopefully they got most of it . They would’ve gotten 5 stars from me if they had a warm ambiance and a much better decor , but I guess here in North America it’s the very normal not to put much or any into your decor n ambiance, unless it’s in downtown Vancouver, which is very...
Read moreThe resturant “taste of lahore “ ambience is very nice . The have kept it very neat and clean. Service of the staff is excellent and very friendly. I would like to give 5 stars for that but for food only two stars from my point of you. I was looking for real Pakistani food (Original lahore street food) with all the spices and something unique. I got disappointed as all the tastes and food recipe are same as Lahori Restaurant that we already have. Everything is very nice but in food they have to be unique in flavours because if I like “Lahori resturant “ food I can go there but I’m coming to your restaurant “Taste of Lahore” to try something different. It doesn’t have anything unique. All the recipes are same as we can get from Lahori Resturant.Think and try to bring some great taste of original Pakistan. If you will go to Pakistan the taste and aroma of the food is very different. All the best hope to see some changes in recipe of your traditional food which are specialty of Pakistan like ( biryani it’s the specialty’s of Karachi it should have some Sindhi touch and flavours, when you talk about chicken karahi it has so many unique flavours from all the cities of Pakistan etc it’s a long list can’t describe everything which will go on . “Taste of Lahore”should have Taste from Pakistan. The recipes have a slight Indian touch. Just bring your own identity with the unique recipes with the touch of original flavours from PAKISTAN. This review is what I felt and thought to write about it. In life there is always a margin of improvement I wish you and your team best in future . My prayers are with...
