The customer service here is awful.
I always get chaat papri and have paid $5 in the past. They always tell me how much it is but since I became a regular customer they would just take my order. It increased to $7 and that was fine, even though that's a 40% increase on food.
I ordered today and picked up my order to find out that it is increased to $10. Overall that's a 50% increase and in the past month, a 43% increase. I understand that prices are inflated but these are food products that are not supposed to be inflated. So I was outraged and made it clear that I will not pay the $10. The server was rude and abnoxious. She told me that I have to buy it because it is made. I told her that I will not pay because that's not even a reasonable price and I was not informed of the inflated increase. She replied with, "we don't have to inform you of the price increase". As if that's an appropriate response for customer service. She admittedly knew that I am a regular customer as she mentioned that she always takes my order. Another server pulled up my "history" and said that I ordered last in April and they increased the prices on May 1st. So they knew that I was unaware of the price change and still she rolled her eyes and forced me to buy their unreasonable priced food, saying that, "you have to buy it now". I was horrified from the disregard of care and absolutely no feelings of remorse. I told her that if they don't need to inform me of the price change then I don't need to pay. Everywhere I order always tell me the total amount; Cactus Club Cafe, Tasty Indian Bistro, and Mahek, to name a few.
I work in client services and I never treated any of my clients in such a way. Instead, I would apologize, give them the same discount as before and inform them that from now on it will be such and such price. Furthermore, the difference in this food was $3 and the difference in the products I sell is on average about $65 (for reference). So instead of good service and communication, I got rude service with demeaning attitude.
I understand there is a cultural difference but I order food from Mahek and Mirch Masala, which is around the same area, and their service is way better. They clearly care about their business. Therefore, I would not recommend this restaurant and location. There is another location on 128 and 76. They have better quality in service and food!

Read moreI recently dined at Ustaad G Restaurant and had an absolutely delightful experience. The moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive, making us feel right at home.
We started our meal with the spring rolls, which were crispy and perfectly seasoned, offering a tantalizing crunch with every bite. Next, we had the fried momos – they were a revelation! Each momo was packed with a flavorful filling and had a wonderful crispy exterior, making them an instant favorite.
The veg noodles were a highlight of the meal. Cooked to perfection, they had a delightful mix of fresh vegetables and just the right amount of seasoning, making each mouthful a burst of flavors. The dish was both comforting and satisfying.
To end our meal, we indulged in the faluda ice cream. It was the perfect sweet treat to round off our dinner, with its rich, creamy texture and the unique blend of flavors and textures that faluda is known for.
Overall, Ustaad G Restaurant provided a fantastic dining experience with their delicious food and impeccable service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable meal!

Read moreI recently visited Ustad G 76 Scoot Road on a Tuesday night and ordered for takeaway. While the order was ready on time and the service seemed smooth at first, my experience quickly soured after I paid the bill. Upon checking, I noticed that they charged me **$0.30 for the takeaway bag—which was never mentioned during the ordering process.
It’s not about the 30 cents, but it’s frustrating when a restaurant doesn’t communicate such charges upfront. If customers are expected to pay for the bag, this should be explained clearly, or at least, they should encourage people to bring their own bags for takeaway.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for the poor service either. The taste was disappointing, and the naan and chapati were undercooked. It wasn’t the quality I expected, especially given the prices. Overall, this was a bad experience with both the service and the food.
I sincerely hope the owner takes note and improves the food quality, service transparency, and customer experience—especially when it comes to takeaway. If you're planning to order from here, I’d suggest carrying your own bag and managing expectations...
