Great Afghan Food in Surrey! Decided to try out some Afghan Food for some post-workout dinner and found Pamir Diner nearby. It wasn't too busy during dinner time on a Sunday and I was able to get seated right away. I ordered the following: - Kabuli Palaw & Lamb Shank - Beef Kebab - Qaimaq Chai (pink tea) The Kabuli Palaw & Lamb Shank was delicious. The lamb meat came right off the bone and complimented the rice really well. The flavors and texture of the dish were great, it reminds me of Biryani which I also love. One Con I would say about the dish is that the side of potatoes and the sauces could be a bit more generous in my opinion. I also ordered a side of beef kebab which I thought was great flavor wise, but it did seem a bit dry in my opinion. To top off my meal I decided to try out the Qaimaq Chai (Afghan Pink Tea). It does take some time to prepare since it's made to order, but it was definitely worth it! It was creamy, refreshing and hot to help digest the food. Service here was great, and the staff were friendly. Interior was clean and cozy with good lighting. Only thing I would mention is regarding the seating - the tables are a bit on the taller side, so unless you're a tall person then it might feel slightly awkward when eating, but honestly it's not a huge deal, just something I observed while dining in. Also they do have TV's inside the restaurant but I noticed it was just being used to play Spotify music - would be pretty nice to have a variety of Afghani music videos playing or something or maybe just have it on the sports channel. There's plenty of free parking in this lot, so you'll never have to worry about finding where to park. The place is relatively easy to get to as well. It's just along Scott Road (120 ST). Overall, this is a nice place to grab some Afghani food here in Surrey. Do check them out!

Loved the platter and the lamb shank

Highly recommend this friendly, inviting restaurant offering afghan cuisine that satisfies meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Ordered the Aushak ($15)- Veggie Dumplings(18) stuffed with leeks and cilantro....delicious! And the Pamir Platter ($45)- assorted kababs, with the lamb substituted for chicken. Comes with a salad similar to a greek salad, tasty hummus and thick pita bread, as an appetizer. Flavoured rice with raisins, almonds and carrot (kabuli), potatoes(2 ways), cooked spinach, baked eggplant, yogurt sauce and salata (similar to pico de gallo)- was all delicious and presentation appealing. Easily fed 3 with enough leftover for another meal or 2. Service was excellent with the servers very friendly, accommodating and informative. Restaurant is spacious and bright. Would give 5 stars but floors were kind of sticky and could have used a wash. Definitely will be going back. *Edit: 2nd visit few wks later, noted floors very clean. New larger fish tank and fresh, new colour paint going up tonight. Upgrading to 5 star!

Ordered take out. The Aush soup was just noodles in a bland watery broth. It was super oily as well. Really missed that rich creamy texture of the soup.

For appetiser I had the triple dip. The dips were pretty bland and sadly came with a Afghan bread the size of your palm. It was dried up and definitely wasn't fresh. Also we didn't get the hummus dip instead it came with a garlicky mashed potato kinda dip. Which was really confusing. The khair mast dip was again very watery.

For mains I got the pamir vegetarian plate. The baked white rice tasted like dried up rubber. I was really disappointed 😞 the potatoes just came in a watery 🍅 gravy. But the spinach and the eggplant dip that came with it tasted good.

I also got the chicken korma from their specials. This was also a very disappointing dish. It had a very liquidy gravy that tasted extremely sour and contained what appeared to be shredded chicken. The kabuli rice was also bland. And again the rice was hard and rubbery. It had lost all it's moisture.

Overall the food didn't taste fresh, or tasty. I felt that almost all the dishes were too watery and didn't have the right consistency and the texture or the ingredients. It was very disappointing. Not worth the price. I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone who craves...

I wish I didn't have the option to even give these people 1 star because they do not deserve it.So disappointing by their service.Today 3rd Oct around 7.50 pm me and my family were at this restaurant and we ordered our food to this server(a little short guy).He left and came back with 2 meals(kabuli) and me and my mom were waiting for our order and it was over 15 mins of wait,my dad and husband were almost done and I was wondering what's going on.i called the other server(a short girl)and asked her when our food is coming and she was like oh you ordered,so she went to check and came back saying owwe the guy forgot to take the order, like seriously, are you kidding???okay so she apologized and took the order again which was a chicken korma and mantu, and guess what she comes back in 10 minutes bringing the mantu and says owe we ran out of chicken korma,I was laughing like oh my god what a joke and my poor baby woke up by then and starting crying,I lost my appetite by then and they didn't even look or feel sorry at all...they were just okay with it...it was already 08.40 by then and I preferred to leave...it was such an awful very bad customer service and experience seriously..I will never come back or order from pamir...
