My wife and I have been to knocks Cafe once before and it was great, but recently we decided to make a reservation for their fancy food night and this is how it went. We arrived to find our table ready for us, there was painted plywood in between the tables. I went to sit opposite my wife at which point our server grabbed the chair I was pulling out and told me that I would be more comfortable in the other spare chair so I was out of the way. We ordered and didn't have to wait very long for our food which I was happy to see. My wife's meal was $24 and all she got was 3 nugget sized pieces of chicken, which were unseasoned and cold, and some potatoes that seemed to come from a can. My meal was $28 and I got 3 tiny scallops, 5 cold shrimp, 6-7 plain mussels and a small amount of undercooked noodles. I was pleasantly surprised and will...

The patio was open and as we waited for our meal we enjoyed the details in the mural on the wall. I had ‘Ruth’s Everything Pita’ and it was everything good! The first bite, though challenging to eat daintily, was filled with bits of flavor that together made a perfect sweet-salty-crunchy bite. A tangy mustard sauce was draped over ham, cheddar, greens, tomato, and sunflower seeds among other tasty bits. A Mexican corn soup on the side filled me up. I know this is a place I’ll return to...
