Ugly Mug Cafe & Emporium — Restaurant in Sydney River

Updated: My husband and I visited just before lunch time (March 8th '21), the chai tea latte was perfect and we were given a choice of cinnamon sprinkled on top or nutmeg both of which were lovely. We also had a freshly baked cinnamon roll each and of the dozens I've tried, those were the freshest, just a pleasant amount of sweetness, and the portion size was just slightly more than I could manage (generous!) although I was tempted to finish it because it was so good! The staff was friendly and helpful and brought our drinks over to where we were seated when they were ready. The place was very clean (including the restrooms) and there were lovely items to look at with regards to the Emporium such as jewellery (jewelry), clothing, handbags (purses) and other items which were available for purchase. We will definitely visit again... We have visited about five more times since early March '21 and the staff have been equally friendly, helpful, and efficient. We each tried the Maple Pecan latte which was delicious and you just can't beat those cinnamon rolls!...

Good coffee! They have a great espresso machine. Also, the baking was incredible. Tried the buiscuits which were very southern. Also tried the cookies, and a brownie. All of them seemed to have a fair share of fat, which made them gooey and yummy, but might not be health friendly. For me, I prefer it that way. If you're getting something bad for you, might as well taste good. The staff were really sweet, and service was quick.

The cafe looked really cuddly, if not a bit overcluttered. I can definitely forgive this, because the clutter are neat things that you can buy.

Interesting little shop here for coffee and baked goods. The front half of the store also sells assorted trinkets and gift shop style items.

The pastries and baked assortment appears to be the stars here. The lady in front of me grabbed a bunch of scones and cinnamon rolls to go. I did the same but ordered one each. The blueberry scone topped with walnuts was pretty amazing, freshly baked in the morning to boot! Cinnamon roll was also a good choice as it wasn’t overly sweet.
