Peking Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

This place was my first experience with Chinese food growing up in Sydney as I'm sure it was for many locals. My family and I have been going here for years and the food is made fresh, ingredients are quality and the execution is consistent. Those complaining of the portions I don't understand, they are fine and what a normal portion should be. If you are looking for an oversized amount of low quality chinese, there are places like that close by. Not at all a critisism because the service is excellent, but I wish they would bring back some of the flare of old. Seeing my seafood wor bar flambee'd was always a highlight and I miss the interactiveness of roasting my own appetizer on the pu pu platter. Little touches like that make dining...

Tasteless and very mushy. Ordered takeout and didn't get everything i ordered (but paid for). I ordered the special rice...it was mushy. There was a big clump of white rice in the middle..and it was slightly less than 1 cup for $14. Def not worth it. There were 3 less egg rolls then I ordered and paid for with no sauce. The person at the front didn't say hello or even talk to me. I walked in. They staired at me ...i said hi I'm here to pick up my take out order. They left look at a bag and said a price. I paid and they said it's that one over there. I picked it up and left. Not welcoming or friendly...the order was incomplete and the food was not good. They did clean the credit debit machine...

I am thoroughly displeased with the food I received. My order was for:

-Chicken fried rice -Egg rolls -Lemon chicken -General Tao chicken -Sweet and sour chicken

Positives were that the food was warm, and the egg rolls were surprisingly very good.

Negatives were that the lemon and general Tao chicken was just the chicken balls (which is really nothing to write home about) in a different sauce with some veggies. Not to mention that for four adults this was a laughable amount of food, especially when you consider the portion sizes that are accustomed to American Chinese food. My order was 62$ and did not feed 4 people. I am now embarrassed for not bringing enough food.
