The Saltwater Social — Restaurant in Sydney

Thomas and Krista are so kind and amazing! From just walking up to their food truck, they were so fun, welcoming, chatty, and banter-worthy! The best brother and sister duo! The raw bar is absolutely delicious. I’m from WA State and was instructed to get a cold lobster roll in Canada as they are the best and better than the buttered ones. This did not disappoint! I have not been a fan of lobster for most of my life but have discovered I love it, it just doesn’t need to be covered in butter! The ginger and the spicy peppers adds so well! Pop’s coleslaw is a delicious side and adds to the family heart that these two serve from. These two are on to something and hope it continues, flourishes, and if their dream, turns to a brick and mortar restaurant one day! I’d definitely make it a point to return! Krista and Thomas are awesome people and their food is AMAZING! They were about to close as we walked up and they pulled everything back out to feed us dinner. The cold shrimp salad was perfectly spiced and absolutely delicious. We also had a lobster roll and a dozen oysters. They may have been the best oysters I’ve ever had and the lobster roll had huge chunks of claw meat and wasn’t over dressed; it was truly perfect. Lastly, the side of cole slaw (they told me it was their father’s recipe) was a perfect mix of fresh cabbage and dressing. Honestly, I didn’t expect to get such an amazing meal from a food truck at a craft brewery but it was a 5-star experience.

We were on a cruise and had an afternoon to spend in Sydney. Saltwater Social hit my radar and we tried it. What a fantastic refreshing experience. If you are into the best lobster rolls and freshest oysters this is for you. But what made the experience so special were the owners who spent time with us. Chef Thomas Dowson and Front person, sister Krista who did everything else from serving to entertaining were a wonderful pair and made the experience unique and memorable.
