The Sandwich Nook Restaurant — Restaurant in Tecumseh

Today was my first and last visit to this establishment. I would like to start out with the fact that it took over 10 min for the waitress to offer us menus and drinks and it was freezing in the dining area. I ordered from under the "burger"section - a chicken burger made with chicken breast. I was expecting a nice piece of chicken breast and what I recieved was a frozen chicken patty. Not to mention, I had asked for no mayo and recieved mayo. I was left to sit and wait for nearly 10 min while my friend ate her food so it wouldn't get cold. The waitress barely checked on us, and she wasn't knowledgable about the menu. When it was time to pay, I had inquired about a discount due to my food being messed up and having to wait. - the answer was a quick, straight NO... 10% off would of been less than a dollar off of my bill and it would of satisfied me as far as customer...

It's easy to complain that it's cash only, however with the prices and portions I have ZERO issues going to an ATM first! The Sandwich Nook is immaculately clean, staff are beyond friendly and very well mannered, portions are fantastic and food is superb. It is on the higher scale of a stereo typical Canadian "home cooked restaurant" that sadly we see less and less of. I've only been once, with my Aunt. She adores the staff and food, and she is treated like family. My Aunt has been telling me for as long as I can remember how great the Sandwich Nook is and I finally got to try it. If my Aunt recommends The Sandwich Nook I just knew it's going to be phenomenal, and it was. I had lunch, Navy Bean Soup and a Grilled Cheese. Next time I will be having breakfast. Highly recommended and wish I could give it more...

We were visiting Windsor and looking for a place to have a quick lunch. Someone we know from Windsor recommend this place to us. It did not disappoint! My wife had a Rueben and I had a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. My wife loved her sandwich. My burger, well, it was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. The patty was fairly big, moist, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The burger should be about the meat patty and that's how it was. No overwhelming bun, sauces and veggies The serving of fries is fairly big and can be shared between two people, IMO. The service too was on point. one thing to know - they are a cash only establishment.
