This is a really mixed review. It was our first ever visit to Frydays, and not sure how soon we will go back. The restaurant itself is bright, clean and very open atmosphere. The kitchen is fully visible behind glass, so you can see everything being prepared. The fish was very good - light, flaky and tasty. Fries were OK. If you like seasoning salt on your fries, then these are for you. But if you like the traditional hand cut fries that normally accompany a good fish dinner, then you'll be disappointed. But what was a real downer was the service. It didn't seem like anyone knew what their job was. Were they servers, cooks, preparers, cleaners? We had one person bring us menus, and then just stand there waiting for our order. There was no time given to look it over. We felt rushed. We ordered a glass of water, and a Coke to go along with the meals. Another person brought cutlery, napkins, tarter sauce, ketchup and vinegar. Our food was then served by a third different person, and we never did get our drinks. So we asked for them. We got 2 glasses of water from a fourth person. When commented that we ordered 1 Coke, he said he was just told to get us water and turned to walk away. We said never mind about the Coke- just remove it from the order. He said he'd take care of it. And that was it. No one checked to see if the meal was OK. No one asked if we needed more water. There were lots of people working, but no one seemed to know who was responsible to take care of customers. We ate our meal, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, the table next to us flagged someone down to get their bill so they could pay. So, we indicated that we wanted to pay as well. The confused server (the one who took our order) came back with a bill, but had to ask us what we ordered just to make sure he got it right. And.. the Coke was still on the bill. So he had to go back to the kitchen to get that corrected. We finally did pay. As mentioned, the food was good, and the portions fair. But if we decide to get it again, we'll just order take-out and go home to eat it. Take what you may of this review. It was a Friday evening, so perhaps they were overwhelmed. Maybe another night would have...
Read moreWe were in Tecumseh and saw this place and immediately we wanted fish and chips for lunch. Unfortunately they aren't authentic chips at all and very much fries, much to my disappointment. As an Englishman I can tell a crisp from a chip from a fry. I didn't care much for the seasoning salt but I was pleasantly surprised by the malt vinegar packets included, oh what a great taste that was on their fries.
My wife ordered the Po Boy sandwich and I ordered the fish dinner. We waited patiently as our order was made fresh, in their very clean and open cook station. Very modern and pleasing to the eye. After about 10 minutes we recieved our order and headed off to our vehicle to enjoy our lunch.
My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Po Boy sandwich but I had received the wrong lunch order, tacos instead of a fish dinner. I returned it and the nice lady checked on their machine and saw they had made a mistake in what they'd provided. She did offer to remake my order but I didn't have another 10 minutes to wait sadly. The fried fish in the tacos was nice but as it wasn't what I ordered I suppose I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.
Lastly the dine in side looked very clean and spacios. Next time I'd like to dine in and give them another chance. Plus the blooming onion looks delicious and I'm itching to try that. Thank you...
Read moreOkay, we went here to celebrate our Mom's birthday because she loves fish and the menu selection had something for everyone, even those who don't like fish. We made the right decision! From the start we were greeted with a smile. We had a rather large group coming so they had no issue putting the tables together for us. As we waited, they brought out menus and drinks for the party that were present. I did let the waitress know we were celebrating a birthday and she let me know the birthday girl received a free dessert! After the rest of the party arrived we ordered and within 10 minutes the bloomin onion arrived! Surprisingly, 10 minutes after that, all of our food arrived! We had a party of 9! The service was amazing, and fast. All our orders were correct, food was hot and delicious. They even brought out an extra plate of their delicious fries for us to share. On to the free dessert for the birthday girl, she decided she wanted to try the chimichangas...they bought out 9 mini chimichangas, one for each of us! That's top notch service! We will definitely be back! Thank you for an...
