WINGS Terrace — Restaurant in Terrace

December 8th, 2018 Since my original post the owner of this restaurant has reached out to me and we were able to talk about our experience. He was very apologetic about how we were treated and was appreciative of my willingness to talk with him. He stated that only one employee was supposed to be on staff on the floor and they decided to extend their hours due to our local bar closing early due to sewage problems and that he was overwhelmed by the crowd that flocked to the establishment when two employees who were off the clock decided to help out. The service we experienced was due to this influx of customers and the inability to handle the crowd but the other practices we witnessed were not acceptable and the owner was appreciative that we had brought them to his attention. As compensation and an attempt to get us back into the door the owner has offered each one in our group a considerable discount on our next visit to hopefully change our perception of his establishment. I am pleased with how it has been handled and I truly believe that they will work to better themselves to provide better service in the future. I've adjusted my review from one star to two stars based on my experience with the owner and will reserve the right to adjust it again once we return to the restaurant.

December 2nd, 2018 Last night we had a very poor experience. It felt like a house party not a professional establishment. We ordered our drinks and some food within 10 minutes of sitting down only to wait over and hour before we hunted down an employee. The guy with the shaved sides and braid down the middle of his head was making drinks at a snails pace for the patrons at the bar, was ignoring the tickets for the restaurant orders and would often take off for a smoke or stand and talk at the end of the bar. The lady who was wearing a blue Haisla Nation hoodie was very nice, however, she was slamming back shots with other patrons in the bar all while taking money and making drinks herself. The runner for the night was a kid on his first shift and looked confused and overwhelmed, he received little to no guidance from his team and while he was trying his best he was obviously out of his depth. In the end out of 7 orders of drinks and 3 orders of wings we received 2 orders of drinks (round of shots and warm beer) and none of the wings we ordered when we decided we had waited and seen enough and asked for the bill. Paying for the bill we were charged for double the amount of shots we ordered along with the other drinks that we never received, we asked that it be corrected and the lady in the hoodie apologized corrected it and gave us 2 orders of wings on the house, one of which we had ordered and the other not. Service was okay, atmosphere is comfortable. I ordered the margarita and it tasted like straight tequila. $9.50 for a fancy drink when I might as well of just gone to the liqour store and bought a straight shot of tequila. The floor beneath our table was soaked with an unknown liquid. The food itself was mediocre for the price. It wasn't terrible but I wasn't to impressed. The calamari was slightly overcooked, the Mac & cheese was very bland. The cesar salad was okay. We ordered starters and main dishes and they all came out in a very mixed order, the mains came first and then the starters after.

The costumers in the booth next to us had ordered chicken nachos with quacomole, the were served beef nachos without quac. They were very upset but decided to keep the beef nachos, instead of having the restaurant throw it away. They requested to still be brought the chicken nachos, so they were served that as well. To the costumers discontent upon receiving the bill they had charged him for both nachos, even though they had messed up the first order. He was extremely upset and left the restaurant remarking that he would never return.

All around not the best...

My husband and I came in for lunch after a long morning of real estate hunting yesterday, were beyond hungry, and most importantly, in need of a glass of wine for me, and a lager for him. We were promptly greeted, given our choice of seating, and were lucky enough to have Paige as our server. She was sweet, funny, and patient, as our mtge broker called before we had time to even look at food menus. She got our drinks immediately tho---clearly she recognized the desperation on our faces! When we did order, I order teriyaki wings, well done, sauce on the side with ranch, and my hubs had the Lousiana style, and a veggie plate. Everything was perfect! The establishment was clean, every staff member was courteous and professional. Paige really made our day, and we will ask for her next time. We left full, calm, and happy enough to purchase our new home in Terrace! We will soon be regulars once the move is complete! ...
